@Adira: turned 2 a few months back. Yeah, I am hoping it gets better as he's older.
@ElbieKay: I do that sometimes also- it does work, so maybe I'll have to resort to that. But the selfie pics never look as good! Ha.

@BabyTsMom: I made DD a photo album of family pictures and silly pictures from my phone which helped this a little. I also gave her an old digital camera so she can take pictures and look at them whenever she wants.

I switch to selfie mode, especially for videos. Then he will smile at himself, and I can take a photo/video.

Out of sight, out of mind is the only thing that worked for us. Like @Adira, I have better luck using my big camera. DD recently learned how to *take* photos with my phone, though, and it's super cute so I do let her do that sometimes.

How old is he?

My 3.5 year old always wants to see the pictures, but he's now pretty good at letting me take a few first before he asks. But I have soooo many videos of him immediately going "Can I see??" because he thinks I took a picture. Or blurry photos because he's moving to look at the picture before I even took it!

I actually find he's better when I use my dSLR instead of my phone. For some reason he's more interested in seeing the end result on my phone than he is on my big camera.

This seems like a silly post, but I'm actually struggling with this! My LO wants to look at pictures every time he spots my phone. It's to the point where I hide the phone at all times so that he doesn't bug me about it- BUT, this also prevents me from taking pictures and videos of all the adorable things he does!
I used to take so many pictures of him on a daily basis, and now for the last six months or so, I barely have any pictures because I'm trying to avoid a meltdown.
Basically I'm just asking how to get him to chill out about looking at my phone, just so I can take some photos and videos of him!! Up to now, I've just been telling him it's not time for him to look at pictures. But that doesn't work because then he gets all upset and won't let me take a pic of him. Arghhhh.
