Focus on anything and everything else. I did have appointments every other week, so I just took it in chunks. "Ok things are good this week. I'll know more in 2 weeks" and then next thing you know, 2 weeks went by and I was saying the same thing again.

As for my recommendations to help pass the time:
If you can read, make a reading list. (I couldn't read - made me too dizzy).

Sign up for exercise classes (again, I couldn't, but this is something you can do and can skip if you are too sick).

Find a new show on netflix or hulu, or a bunch of movies you've wanted to see, and veg out watching them in the evenings and weekends. This was a definite for me.

I have to say...i disagree with people saying you need to plan stuff like parties or other obligations. Planning things you can cancel, that's fine. But there was NO WAY I could have done anything during my first tri. I was sick well in to my second tri, in fact, and pretty much avoided doing anything that wasn't completely required of me. I'd say, keep it low key. I mean, don't plan an expensive trip or host a big party at your house or anything.

Like @sorrycharlie, I found out really early and did not have my first dr. appointment till 11 weeks. That was the longest stretch, especially being so sick. Honestly I just took it day by day, and the time eventually passed! I did take 2 trips - one for work and one for a holiday... and they were horrific. My first trip was at 6 weeks and my m/s actually HIT while I was on the trip. The second one was at 12 weeks and nearly intolerable for me - I was ready to kiss the ground when I got back to my home comforts!

Definitely put off doing baby stuff. We got a TON of stuff done for the nursery and now that I'm 20 weeks I'm just twiddling my thumbs lol. I'd suggest being as social as your energy level will allow!

I tried to keep as busy as I could on the weekends. Nothing baby related. We went on vacation, ended up our babymoon at 10 weeks. Soak up as much time with you DD as you can, just you and her!

My nausea was the entire pregnancy so unfortunately for me, trimesters didn't matter! Lol. I felt like it was dragging! I tried to think of it in increments - I found out at 3w2d (9 dpo) so I had a ways to go. I had a NP appt at 8w, first OB with ultrasound at 10, NT at 12, heartbeat at 14. So once I hit the 8w point it wasn't as bad, but that month in between felt like a lifetime!

Plan stuff for the weekends! We did a bunch of stuff that helped make the first trimester go faster. It was during the summer, so we went camping a couple times, to a baseball game, to a 4th of July party, visiting family, etc. I just tried to have other things I could look forward to so I wasn't constantly thinking about the pregnancy!

I'm pretty sure nothing could make non stop nausea go faster. But my first tri was over thanksgiving and Christmas so that helped I guess. I feel the second tri is more startlingly fast. First tri there were times u was like, oh my god I'm only ten weeks.., and I only started knowing at 4! This will take forever!

Sleep, lol.

Plan something...like a party for Easter or something. My 2nd trimester went by really fast cause it was during Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I was so unprepared for them that they snuck up on me and made the 2nd trimester fly right by.

I know for many that test early have a long wait in the first trimester. Any suggestions for how to make it go by faster.

I think for me it helped to NOT jump into crazy baby mode right away. We started reading some books but didn't stress about names, decor, or gear until the second tri. It also helped us enjoy the last little bit of normal time we could.
