I would just fly with it. It sucks to have one more thing to carry.

Have you heard of milkstork? I keep seeing ads for them on my Facebook although it looks to be primarily for shipping milk home from work trips. But their site also lead me to this document https://www.breastfeedingincombatboots.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Shipping-Milk_Military-PERSONAL.pdf

Back in 2016, I've flown across the country (5-6 hr flight) with frozen breast milk. I packed it in a cooler with dry ice. No issues. It was still frozen when I got home. Dry ice depending on how much you get can keep things frozen for 1-2 days. (Ever buy frozen groceries online? They ship food and medications with dry ice and it's good for 1-2 days).

http://living.thebump.com/travel-frozen-milk-baby-10227.html

Good tips here. Make sure you use a cooler that is not air tight since the dry ice vapors needs to be able to escape.

Check the TSA website to make sure nothing has changed since I traveled. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/dry-ice

Oh, I've transported frozen water ice across the country, too. The key thing is making sure it is frozen solid at the time of inspection at the airport. If it's not frozen, they have to test. it.

I just transported about 20 5-oz bags of frozen breastmilk 6+ hours by car, in a cooler bag in my car with nothing but other bags of frozen breastmilk to keep it cold (no room for ice). It was all frozen solid when we got home. I would think that you could layer the frozen bags with ice packs (like, the first aid kind), or a bunch of those little tiny ones you sometimes get with takeout food/meat from nice grocery stores (check amazon). Checking would probably be ok - the belly of the plane should be pretty cool while you are in the air, so that will help, too. Put everything in ziplock bags inside the cooler in case of any thawing.

I think as much of a hassle as it seems like, it's easier for you to fly with it than for DH to drive with it and constantly be restocking ice.

I'm sure there are TSA regulations about it but how about carrying dry ice as carry-on?

How long will your travel be, like door to door?

I have read that if it defrosts partially but there are still ice crystals / ice chunks, it's ok to refreeze. At least, that's what everyone in the exclusively pumping facebook group says.... how old is your daughter?

Hey everyone!
So we are moving in two weeks from Texas to Maine.
I have a small stash of frozen breast milk, about 2 of these storage containers - what is the best way to transport it without it defrosting? I'll be flying with DD and DH will be driving (4 days).

Because we will be staying at my parents house for a few days to begin with, I was thinking of just shipping it directly to them... but the few internet searches turns up info to ship non-frozen breast milk. it can be kept cold, but not frozen.

Help!
