We did minimal sleep training for my youngest since he was a good sleeper anyway, but we have let him cry, and it works out for us because our oldest sleeps later than him.

Mine share a room, and we pretty much ended up not sleep training for that reason. Our oldest needs her sleep for school in the morning. If they had separate rooms, it probably would have been different.

We were worried and therefore ended up NOT sleep training our second! But even when she cries, our first usually just sleeps right through the cries. Their rooms are right next to each other but they both have white noise going.

We haven't had to sleep train, but my daughter didn't wake up when the baby had MOTN feedings and cried. And she doesn't even have a sound machine. So you might be surprised!

DD1 sleeps with a sound machine and I'm just hoping that will be enough if/when the time comes to sleep-train DD2.

We used separate rooms, white noise machines in both rooms, and double white noise (dohm and ipod) in the big crier's room. They are better at sleeping through one anothers cries than I expected.

Eta: we have twins, so were sleep training both simultaneously.

I'm not doing this yet but I just wanted to see how moms of two did this. I have a toddler set up in his own room. My little one is 3 months old but will most likely need to be sleep trained at some point in the next few months. How do you not wake up the older child when trying to sleep train the younger?
