Oooh I got my Boba in the mail last week and I practiced wrapping it in front of a mirror and then used a teddy bear. I admit I was also watching a "how to" you tube video and it took me awhile to figure out how to wrap it! I definitely will want DH to help me out when I use it with LO for the first time.

Just dive in. The moby is intimidating, but just getting started is key. I did it in front of a mirror after he'd just nursed and then went outside (his favorite place). Good luck!

We practiced with the Boba wrap with the dog actually, hah. And tried it a few times without baby. Best advice is to just go for it, have another person there for your confort/safety and check the mirror periodically. Good luck!

YouTube and a stuffed animal were how I learned to wrap the Moby. The first few times I wore LO in it I made sure I had DH around for an extra set of hands. I put her in it during her happiest time of day (after her morning feeding) and she loved it. I wore her around the house a few times before venturing out in public.

I watched a few YouTube clips for my ktan and then just popped her in. I also made sure SO was there for extra hands until I was comfy. The first few times I only put her in when she was in a good mood, and I would take her out if she was unhappy. Not sure if that was necessary but I didn't want her to associate being upset with being worn. Oh, she used to and still does sometimes fuss when I first put her in, so I try to walk, go outside, or bounce on the ball right after and most of the time she settles.

I would recommend practicing the basics with a doll first. You want it to be a positive experience, and if you get frustrated or have a hard time and feel stress, that will be picked up by baby. When you feel ready to try with baby, pick a time when you think baby is most content. There are many different youtube and online tutorials. I think that these tutorials are well done and cover all the basics. I preferred to wait until I was competent before venturing into youtube land just because some tutorials there can be hard to follow, and some just aren't the greatest. Good luck! Happy to help if you ever want or need any (or to troubleshoot with you).

C is up to eight pounds now and I really want her to enjoy being worn (I can impose my will on a newborn, right?) how did you start using the moby or baby k'tan? Practice wrapping without the baby? When baby is sleeping, right after eating? No advice is too basic!!

I have a borrowed moby and a new ktan, but we still need to wash the ktan so ill prob start with the moby.
