It was bonding time for him and he often did it while doing skin to skin. Just make sure your DH knows that you love him and appreciate him supporting you. DH tried to spend as much time with us at the NICU as he could but his work was not understanding. I think all you can really do is tell him how much you appreciate his support and how much it means to you and your LO. The nurses have all said that it's harder for dads and are very sweet to him and help him and answer his questions as much as they can. It's just hard to see him hurting and not be able to help. </p>
