We have the B-Agile and it was the best baby purchase we have made.

- very smooth ride for baby
- safe and easy to push around. I can do a 360 with one hand.
-compatible with the B-Safe carseat. Just click and go. So simple
-extremely easy to fold up and nice and compact. I can fit it into the trunk of my MINI Clubman and now MINI Countryman with no trouble at all.

For the length of time you'll be using the stroller plus if you have more kids, I think it's the best price for a quality, safe stroller.

Good Luck!

I don't have much advice apart from don't just drop it if you really want something else! I really really had my heart set on a particular travel system but Dh ended up talking me into getting one 2/3's of the price. I have massive stroller regret and wished I had talked him into the one I wanted!

Have him compare it to the BOB strollers. That is more of an apple to an apple comparison. Are you looking at the travel system as well? Does he realize that you're getting two items in the price? Try having him do some research on the features and safety ratings and see what he can come up with.

Remember that if you put it on your registry, someone else may buy it for you, OR you will get a discount on it in the end. And if you plan on having more kids, you will get more use out of it.

I picked the B Agile system over the Graco as well. It's lighter, collapses smaller, easier to maneuver, and has higher safety ratings. It was no question for me.

Just keep looking around online in the next few months. You can also wait for BRUs' gear sale. I'm sure the B-Agile will be cheaper online than at BRUs. I've always bought all of our strollers online but will see it in person before I do. Have never regretted a purchase yet and we've gotten 5 strollers to date.

I did a quick search for you and found the travel system for $299 on Amazon for the red and sandstone colors:

http://www.amazon.com/Britax-B-Agile-B-Safe-Travel-System/dp/B00DHINGB2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1393254950&sr=8-5&keywords=b-agile.

You can always buy the previous year models for cheaper too. That's always a cost savings for some brands. I believe the B-safe car seat is highly rated as well. It's worth getting a consumer reports online subscription to check for ratings. It helped me a lot in deciding on most of the baby gear we got.

I would really hold your ground about the stroller. I've never seen anyone say anything good about those Graco travel systems. And a stroller is the kind of thing where if you hate it, you HATE it, and you continue doing so until you spend money on buying another one. And Gracos aren't going to hold their value much, so it's not like you can sell or consign it. It's just money down the drain.

And really, the B-Agile system is not that super expensive. Keep in mind that BRU has 20% off coupons all the time. So it looks like $280 for a stroller you'll use for years plus a carseat.

Also, do you have any relatives who will want to buy something for you/the baby? Even if no one wants to buy the whole thing, ask for gift cards to BRU and you can probably at least defray a good chunk of the cost.

@loveisstrange: LOL, we don't have one in my city or I totally would!

@PinkElephant: That's a good point about the car thing..I'll try that!

@T.H.O.U.: Very good point. I took him there early because he had *no idea* what baby things cost. He thought we'd buy a crib and a car seat and be ready. So it was definitely a learning experience for him! He did better than I thought he would.

@googly-eyes: I've started keeping an eye out at strollers and for the most part we do see a lot of Graco's and Chicco's. I only see higher end strollers at one mall. Our city isn't very fancy.

@MrsMcD: I will definitely be pushing it most often..and having to lug it in and out of my car! He did push it around and agreed that it was nice.

For everyone who gave opinions on their stroller - thank you!! I'm going to be showing him this thread and all of your points. In the end I know we'll end up getting whichever one I prefer, I was just hoping for some specifics to help get him more on board with it and less 'just do what you want'.

Here is the other thing I wanted to point out. At 10 weeks, this whole pregnancy and going to have a baby thing may still be sinking in for him. It may take him a bit longer to realize what is really needed and how expensive things are. Maybe just give him some time without pressure to come around

Your husband sounds like he has sticker shock, and you know what, that's totally normal! The baby industrial complex is probably worse than the wedding industrial complex when it comes to spending money.

So, here's how I would handle it. I'd defer the purchase of the stroller for now. Focus on the other stuff, like the car seat, sleeping area, etc. Decide if you can use a car seat/snap and go for at least 6 months, then when your're ready to transition out of that, go stroller shopping again.

Look at floor models of the higher end strollers, those are often a good deal too.

The highest price at BRU isn't the highest price in the market...BY FAR. Take notice of other strollers out and about. If your area is anything like mine, britax is a nice brand but the price is nowhere near some of the other brands I see frequently.

Can you get him to think of it like a car? My husband was actually the one pushing for our bugaboo based on things like how tightly it turns corners, suspension, shock absorption, etc.

While I can't speak to the Britax model you're looking at, I tend to agree that often the pricier strollers are better built and will last longer/hold up to more abuse. Our Cameleon is pristine after nearly two years of heavy use, off raiding on hiking trails, and international trips, both in how it looks and pushes. You can try to argue that Buying a cheap stroller won't save you money in the end if you go through two or three of them over several years/several kids. :)

Who will be pushing the stroller the most? I assume you will. If so, I think you should have the most say in what stroller you get. Has your DH looked up reviews and what not. Ugh. Guys should stay out of most purchases in my opinion. Good luck, lady!

It really depends on how often you plan on using it. If it is going to be used daily I would DEFINATELY recommend getting a nicer stroller. If you are going to only use it every once in a while because you plan on doing lots of babywearing, I would go with the cheaper option.

I have the B-agile and I absolutely love it. I use it probably 2-3 hours per day at least, and have since lo was born a year ago. It is easy to fold and put in the trunk (that is where I store it), it rides (and pushes) smooth, and I can also use it when jogging so I don't have to buy a jogging stroller. The front wheel makes it a zillion times easier to steer when shopping (you can turn it completely around with one hand) and it also locks in one place to make it safer when running (so you don't accidentally steer into the street). I also love that you only have to lock the wheels on one side rather than both.

We bought the stroller and the Chaperone seat, but in hindsight I wish we had gotten the travel system instead. The Chaperone seat is "safer" but it is a beast. SO much bigger than the smaller seat.

I seriously cannot say enough good things about the stroller (and the company...we had an issue with the handle bar peeling and they sent me a cover, no questions asked, free of charge).

I have the B-agile. Here are the features that I really liked:
-light. Easy to haul around
-folds up super easy
-3 wheels makes it easier to maneuver
-can get the b-safe carseat on it without extra adaptors
That's all i can remember right now, but I think there was more.

I have the B-agile. Here are my best arguments for your hubs :-)
-it's cheaper on Amazon
-Britax car seats are highly rated. I haven't tried the Graco infant seats but we have a Graco convertible and a Britax convertible (and Brtiax infant seat). The Britax is probably $200 and the Graco was around $130 I think. Both my husband and I vastly prefer the Britax. It's so much easier to get a good fit and get the straps snug.
-you won't need to buy any additional adapters to get your car seat to snap into the stroller
-it's one of the lightest strollers and easy for me to get in and out of my car
-super easy to fold up with 1 hand

I think it's a great stroller system and you can even get 10% off as a completion discount from Amazon.

I have a graco. It was great in the store but really, you push it up and down like two aisles. I wish I had had more hands on experience with it.

It's great for taking a walk or going to the mall, but it just barely fit in the trunk of my ford focus. It doesn't fit in my husbands Subaru impreza. We upgraded my car to an SUV two years ago so yes, it does fit with room to spare, but I wish I'd have asked to try to put it in our trunks before actually getting it.

It's also heavy and doesn't fold very small. We almost never fold it up, Unless we are putting it in my SUV.

I have the b-ready but I listed the features I loved about it most for DH and made sure to highlight a lot of the things that could save us money in the long run by going with a more expensive stroller (the b-ready can become a double easily which is important for my nanny job and will help when we have 2 kids later down the road).

I think highlighting the features that you really love and aren't available in the other strollers is important. You could also look at reviews of the graco and if there is a consistent problem, you could point that out. It might help him see that the cheaper option might cost you more money later on. I know several people that bought graco travel systems and really hated the strollers. They never used them and then ended up buying another stroller.

I have the B ready which is the double stroller so slightly more pricey then the agile. I love it. Here are a few things that are great about it
- size. It folds up nice and small. It fits in the trunk of my mazda 3 with no problem. I also have a Bob and I have to take off the front tire to get it in the trunk and then still there is no more room back there.
- the tires. They are foam or something? I can't remember. Anyways, you'll never have a flat tire. Won't have to worry about replacing the tires.
- It's super easy to push around, lots of control.
- These strollers are built to last. You'll never need to replace it. In all honest, if you're going to have more than 1 kid, you might want to look at the B ready. They come on sale. Twice a year Britax has the free ride event. When you buy the stroller ( the b ready, not sure about the agile.) you can get the car seat or the second seat for the ready free. I know they do it in June, not sure when else.

Anyways, I love my Britax. Apparently they have awesome customer service so if you have problems, they're great to work with. Good luck! You have lots of time to get it, so just wait and look for it on sale. When I got my britax, the price for just the stroller was $579 ( canada ) I got it on sale for $460? something like that.

I think a review of some must have features and prices helps DH. And then include some expensive ones!

Yesterday my husband and I took our first trip to Babies R Us. I wanted to give him a better idea of pricing, and also to look at things in person that I've looked at online for months. I'm 10w4d, so not buying anything quite yet. Everything went great until we got to the strollers. I want the Britax B-Agile travel system. However, this was the most expensive travel system there. He got mad saying I just wanted the most expensive thing, and he wants me to get a Graco. I have nothing against Graco, I just really want the Britax. For one, I like the look of the Britax. I tried explaining that I had been looking at reviews and videos for the britax, but he just kept saying I should look at the reviews for the other ones.

I know in the end he'll defer to me on this, but I also don't want to strong arm him into it. I need help convincing him that this is the stroller for us. Any suggestions on what I can say to convince him? I did mention to him that there are MUCH more expensive strollers out there, that the store just doesn't carry them. He didn't seem to care. Britax B-Agile users, any convincing arguments? Or should I just drop it and start looking at Graco's?

Eta, I told him that I would check pricing and make sure to purchase from a sale or with a coupon.
