I am totally weird about money and I totally get why you would be shy. When I used to babysit they paid me on a monthly basis..thank goodness. That was too big of a check for them to forget to write!</p> <p>I'd wait until she handed me my check on Friday and then look at it and say..."oh this is just for this week" or "is this for this week and last?"<br /> And she'll probably be ok..."oh!" Just say "Hey I think this is only for today and I don't think you paid me for last Friday". </p> <p>If you want to say something sooner, send a text that's more like a question. Like "Hey I don't think you even paid me for Friday, am I mistaken?" I think if there is anyway you can word it so you are giving her the benefit of the doubt, that is best. You know, something like "I know things have been hectic, and I think your forgot to make your payment to me this week. At times in the beginning she needed to pay me a week late but always told me ahead of time. For the past year her and her DH both got better paying jobs in there careers so she hasn't had to pay me late in a long time. She's been really busy lately and has had alot of family drama going on so this past Friday she forgot to pay me. I gave it till today (tuesday) to see if she would remember and she hasn't. I feel SO weird telling her she forgot and I am not sure how to word it. We usually communicate threw text because it's easier with the kiddos. I won't see her again until Thursday and then another payment is due Friday. I want to send her a text letting her know but I don't want to sound money hungry or to make her feel bad for forgetting. I know I am making this a bigger deal then it really is but I hate dealing with these situations I'm always afraid of saying the wrong thing and making people feel bad. How would you word the text? Or how would you like it worded if you were in her shoes? </p>
