@caffeinated: they won't let them sleep past two? A lot of the kids I know on a one nap schedule right now sleep longer than two hours. Maybe a cat nap after daycare will work. I would think it would be easier for her to deal with tiredness being around other kids rather than being extra tired between 2 and bedtime. That's the case for my LO anyway.

@Weagle: No, she won't go to daycare until 11 months (in March). I don't go back to work until April, but i'm going to slowly transition her to daycare by having her go part-time in March. I feel like if her nap ends at 2pm, i'm either going to have to put her down SUPER early for bed. Ugh!

She goes to daycare now? What times/days? I only have friends' experiences to draw from, but the daycare itself was the driving factor in the transition. Their kids conform much easier to the daycare schedule at daycare than they do with the same schedule at home.

My LO has recently started resisting her morning nap like crazy. When she does, I just try to keep her busy until her next nap. Distraction helps her sail through the insane overtired stage and back to "easy to sleep" stage. Maybe you could do the same and use distraction until the time you want her to nap.

LO is almost 10 months and takes 2 naps. She is one of those babies who NEEDS her sleep, otherwise she is not a happy girl. A lot of the daycares in my area only do one naps at the 1 year mark, from 12-2pm.

I have no idea how to start the transition. Should she take a nap when she gets home from daycare and then have a later bedtime? Have an early wakeup and take a nap before going to daycare? Aughh!
