@shellio: Yea, my ds1 is 2.5. I have a good 1-2" width section that stayed numb. Hopefully that makes my rcs easier since it's already numb :)

Very easy! I was up and moving around less than 24 hours later, doing laps around the halls by day 2. I had an easy recovery from my first too (however I had to recover from 2 1/2 hours of pushing too so I would say second was easier as I wasn't as exhausted or sore!)

@MrsH: You will have to keep us posted. I am scheduled for my RCS in 7 weeks. With a 3 year old at home, I am super nervous. I remember what a struggle it was for the first couple of weeks, especially trying to get out of bed.

Following because mine is 2 weeks away and I have a 20 month old.

I will say that my first was a scheduled c-section and I was surprised by how easy it was. I'm just nervous this time because I'll have a toddler as well.

My recovery was harder. I think I pushed myself too hard with a toddler at home, and also ended up with a wound infection that really wiped me out. Most of the women I've talked to, though, have said that the recovery got easier with each RCS.

@ValentineMommy: I'm 18 mos out from my second CS and have about the same area of numbness that I did at this point after my first (if that makes sense). My OB said that whatever your sensation is after about 1 year, you can expect it to stay like that.

Sooo easy. I was home 29 hours after delivery and ok to go on short walks three days later. At one week pp I was about 95%. I had a 23 month old at home at it wasn't a problem at all. My parents were there the first week, then my sisters the next week. By the third week I was home alone with both girls and it was fine.

I found it be much easier! I think my body was more prepared after chasing the older around during my whole pregnancy. I also enlisted more family help upfront. And my older stayed in school.

I feel like my recovery was harder with my repeat c section. But I think it was because I pushed myself more having a toddler. I know I did not rest as much as I should have. It's hard when your toddler needs you too!

Mine is next week and wondering this too.

I've heard that the recovery is easier, but I'm not sure why. Maybe because the area is typically already numb (at least mine still is)??

It was easier! I was up and about sooner and used less pain meds!

The hardest part was trying to get my 2.5 yr old to understand that I couldn't hold him and he couldn't sit on my lap or push on my stomach

My recovery was smooth. I felt good enough for walks before the 6 week PP mark. DH took several weeks off and he spent a lot of time with our toddler.

How was your RCS? Did you have an easier recovery with your RCS?

DD2 is getting evicted tomorrow and I'm starting to get a bit anxious about the thought of a newborn and a 18 month old and abdominal surgery :bummed:
