We had lots of weeks/long weekends away visiting friends &amp; family. Weather was decent in July and not so great in August. It was my first full summer as a mom and we really enjoyed making the most of the weather and long days, got to see a lot of our friends... My summer felt like it was just August.<br /> It was also odd weather-wise, it rained a lot in July! It was actually a pretty hot summer for the PNW and it was hard to be 9 months pregnant, swollen and not have air conditioning. Also, I had a pit in my stomach for months knowing that I would have to send B off to kindergarten at the end of summer! I'm still adjusting even though he has already started. Our winters are very gloomy here so we try to make the most of our summers. We definitely kept ourselves busy which was fun but exhausting at the same time. I never thought about the challenges of summer with school aged kids. I felt like I was driving my kids back and forth between daycare (for younger) and camps (for older) plus their other activities.
