But 3 wasn't bad at all and we're deep into 5 already without too many issues, so I don't really understand the hype. The chief issues we had/have are talking back, protesting doing things he has to do, and interrupting adults. It's such a fun age! Watching my daughter flourish into a little person has been the best. It's when I truly saw her personality peeking out. She also became so so helpful, I get glimpses of the future where kids actually participate in housework and it gets me excited! I can ask her to grab things for me, like if her sister is sleeping on my lap she will get up and bring me some water, stuff like that. It's also great that she has more independence and autonomy, like dressing herself and using the bathroom. She was easier and better behaved at two and three. Four was pretty challenging in comparison. Hard to pinpoint but in general, I think she was more restless and more prone to arguing. I have to whip out an Arsenal of tools some days. And throw on some quick thinking and creativity as well. As we are close to five, she is a doll again. She was pretty mature for age at 3 so at 4, life was just more of the same but she was more daring. I'm struggling to explain it. I miss the toddler days where everything is so cute. I think I have slightly higher expectations for her now since I've taught her so much (about behavior) at three.
