@BoogieBea: ah yes, my LO started to try and do the book thing to stretch things out. sometimes i let her get away with 1 additional book but then after that i plop her down in her crib, even if she is whining. she usually calms down once i have her in the crib and just goes to sleep.

@Andrea: He's doing better now. It's partly our fault because in the past, we had given in to his 'one more story' plea before bed time. That just got out of hand. So now, we're have a strict 2 story policy. He whined and screamed for a few days but eventually got used to the new drill. He's also completely on Team Daddy and only wants daddy to do his bedtime routine so when grandma tried, it just fueled his tantrum.

@BoogieBea: how has DS been? My parents were here over Xmas helping us out and everything was great. But then they left and we had epic tantrums and clinginess so my LO definitely did not like that change. I thought she would have been bothered when they were here but I guess she accepted it. But then they left, and I guess it was too many changes in a short period? I dunno!

LO had two epic tantrums today. One when I was trying to put him down for his nap thisafternoon and one just moments ago when DH took him up for a bath. DH was away last week and came back with his parents. While he was away, our baby sitter helped out with bath time. She did his nighttime routine for the 4 nights DH was away. LO was wasn't happy about it but never got into full tantrum. When DH got back, things went back to normal. DH is usually the one who puts him down for naps and bedtime on the weekends. Today was the first day I was the one who put him to his nap since DH returned. He threw an epic tantrum as I tried to bring him upstairs. He always stalled when we read him stories but he was always willing to go upstairs on his own. I finally got him into bed and he babbled the entire time and then started crying. He never did end up taking that nap. So I though that maybe tonight, he'd be okay since DH will be putting him to bed. But he threw another epic tantrum once again trying to get him to go upstairs.
These tantrums were so intense that I wonder he he has some sort of neurological problem.

Could DH being away have caused this? Or is it because we have visitors? Perhaps it's because this is leftover frustration from our babysitter putting him to bed last week?
