One I had in a hospital, one I had on the side of the road--ha!
Water broke first with 1, contractions then water with 2.
Major tearing with 1, minor with 2.

LO1: Spontaneous labor at 40+4, everything happened on its own. 13 hours total with 1.5-2 hours of pushing. Only used a half a dose of the IV narcotic. Retained placenta that was resolved within an hour of delivery.

LO2: Induced with pitocin at 41+3 and had to have water broken after four hours. 7.5 hours with less than 5 minutes of pushing. 2 doses of IV narcotic. Placenta came out fine but I had a postpartum hemmorhage that only took about 20-30 minutes to resolve.

LO1: induced at 40w6d and never made it past 2 cm after 10ish hours on pitocin, ended up with a c-section.
LO2: scheduled c-section at 39w1d

Both were scheduled c-sections and they were pretty similar. The only real difference was immediately after in recovery because they took LO2 to the nursery for breathing issues. They brought him back about 2 hours after birth.

Oh, and LO2's c-section was quicker because LO1 was really stuck. They had to use the vacuum to get him out during surgery.

Both planned c-sections.

#1 easy surgery and easy recovery, skin-to-skin in OR and felt great immediately

#2 harder surgery (apparently because of his size which caused issues) and awful recovery. They offered skin-to-skin in the OR but I couldn't really hold or look after him for a fair few hours

Dd1- I was induced but I was going to the hospital for a 24 hour urine catch, so the induction was a surprise. I had Stadol first, which was horrendous and I came crashing off my high during transition so I ended up with and epi. From start of pit to her birth labor was 6 hours. 3 pushes. Pretty easy. Born at 38 weeks.

DD2- I was induced at 40+1. From the start of pit to her birth was 4 hours. No pain meds. 5 pushes I think. Pretty easy then too. I really enjoyed the high you get after a pain med free birth. But i also really enjoyed not being in pain so, there's that lol

Very similar. First one started with my water breaking, and contractions came a few hours later and were on top of each other. Second one started with contractions 3-4 minutes apart and they stayed that way until I got my epidural, and my OB broke my water. But both were around the same total time (9 and 8 hours), with great epi experiences and very short pushing times (20 minutes and 9 minutes!).

They were pretty much the same. My first labour was about 4.5 hours long, my second was about 3.5 hours long. Pushing for the first took 45 mins, pushing for the second took 10 mins. The only major difference was my water broke spontaneously for the first delivery, and for the second they broke it when I got to the hospital. I felt like I was better at managing the pain for the first delivery, but I also think that might have had something to do with them breaking my water the second time. Once they broke my water, the contractions got very intense.

My first was an emergency c section after trying to push for 2 hours with an epidural.

The second I was really only in labor for about 4-5ish hours, at the hospital for about 2 of those hours. My water broke and 20 minutes later the boy came flying out fast and no time for an epidural.

So totally different. I'm actually pretty terrified of delivering #3 and getting to the hospital on time.

1st--pitocin induction, 3 attempts at epidural but no luck at a successful one. Sunny side up baby, pushed for 1 hour 45 minutes, over 30 stitches. 16 hours total.

2nd--med free, zero interventions. Labored in tub until it was time to push. Baby was sunny side up this time too, pushed for 45 minutes. Had some 2nd degree tears. 6 hours total.

3rd--I had a placental abruption so it was a bit nuts. 9 hours total, but only 15 minutes of pushing.

First was an induction that lasted 11 hours. Back labor. Went from 5-10cm in literally 10 minutes and was born with 1 push. No epidural an easy recovery.

Second was all natural, lasted 4 hours, no back labor, Pushed 4 times - baby was 2lbs heavier. No epidural, easy recovery.

Both were pretty standard until the last hour. DD1 was sunnyside up, epidural barely worked, was shaking and puking the entire time, and pushed (and felt every push) for an hour before she was born.
DD2 - got an amazing epidural, watched Parenthood, and she slid out in 2 pushes...despite being almost 2 lbs heavier! Recovery was sooo much easier.

First was long labor (30 hours), long pushing (3 hours), DD was posterior and needed a vaccum, epi was my BFF...recovery was slow and quite painful. Everyone was in the waiting room and screamed in excitement when Dh brought out the pink onesie

DD2 was fast and furious...went from 3-10 in 45 minutes, she came out in 1 push and the dr almost didn't make it. None of our families made it in time for a big announcement in the waiting room. No time for an epi :( super easy recovery

First was an induction with pitocin, 12 hours from start to finish, an epidural a few hours before delivery that mostly worked, though back labor was untouched (sunnyside up) and it wore off by the end-- so much so that I walked myself to the bathroom right after delivery (much to my nurse's amazement and fear). Pushed for an hour-- it wouldn't have taken so long to push, but the cord was loosely around her neck.

Second was an induction, initially with just breaking my water since I was already at a 4. Diagnosed with pre-e in labor, skyrocketing blood pressure and urine proteins meant my OB decided to administer pitocin and get the baby out. 5 hours total from water break to holding baby, but the epidural failed and I went from a 6 to a 10 in 45 minutes, with pitocin, confined to the bed, feeling it all. I was whimpering because I couldn't scream. Then, I pushed for 10 minutes, clotted, hemorrhaged, and couldn't stop violently trembling for hours. Then I had a fever.

The first time was fairly easy as far as birth goes. The second time was traumatic and a bit touch and go at times.

1st was longer to get into active labour.
2nd was faster and he was resting right on my pelvic bone the whole time so even the epidural didn't help with that pain.
3rd will be a planned c section due to medical reasons.

First one was over 24 hours from first painless but noticeable contraction to baby. Had an epi from 4cm to 10cm over 8 hours and got a nap in, the epi ultimately failed just before two hours of pushing. But after an episiotomy ds was out in one push. Took pain meds for two weeks but was walking around and showered while at the hospital and left the following day.

Second was less than 8 hours from water breaking to baby, less than 2 hours from uncomfortable contractions to baby. Went from a six to ten in 15 minutes, 10 min of pushing. Intense and painful as two hours of pushing but so fast! Medfree and my recovery was so much faster and easier; didn't even take pain meds and I was moving freely and thoroughly enjoyed my two nights stay w just ds2.

If you had more than one child, how were your births different? Did you have an epidural for one and not the other? Did you have a c-section and then a Vbac? Was the first one super long and the second fast? Easy/hard? Exactly the same?
