LO is almost 5 months and thankfully she still plays ok on her own, it's nice so I can get things done. I'm sure she will start complaining though in a few months.

My LO is 9 months old and it depends on her mood. she will crawl on the floor, play with her fisherprice silly town toy or lie down in her crib and sing to herself. but again this is on a good day. If she is tired and crabby then she wont want to and I have to put her in the ergo carrier

I started when i needed to make dinner. I would give her a bunch of toys and she would entertain herself while i cooked. Every so often i would give her something different (ladle, wooden spoon, tupperware container). I also let her roam around the kitchen. Does she crawl yet? I found that things got easier once she gained some independence through crawling!

LO (8.5 months) used to be so good at entertaining herself for at least 20-30 minutes, but recently it's impossible for her to play alone in the floor, in the jumperoo, etc. It's exhausting to listen to her whine, and I would really like to get some things done even while she's awake. How can I help her learn how to do this? Will I have to just wait until she does it on her own?
