A lot of research on the vaccine was undertaken by a research institute at the institution at which I work, and I have heard some of the researchers speak out (not publicly) against Gardasil. I have had a history of abnormal PAPs coming back as HPV positive (thanks cheating ex-boyfriend) so my doctor thought it was important. I find it hard to believe such a huge pharmaceutical company would commit fraud on such a large scale. I started the vaccine a few months before the cut off age and had the last shot after it but it was still covered.</p> <p>Just in case you may be interested in getting it, my 57 year old mom had her GYN offer it to her a couple of years ago. The doctor said it would have been covered. Not sure if this is the case with all doctors but I found it interesting. I think my doctors ended up calling my insurance to see if I could get it past the age of 26. I got the first shot of the vaccine but unfortunately forgot to get the 2 other shots and my insurance covers it up until the age of 26.
