@jh524: buy lots of canned chicken noodle soup and chicken broth with saltine crackers, don't stress out with cooking. That's all my DH wanted when he had the flu, Campbell's chicken noodle soup.

@jh524: DS1 had a cold + fever when DS2 recently was discharged from the hospital, and if DS2 had gotten it he would have had to be readmitted... I think preparing for war is an appropriate analogy! I would just be as diligent as possible with cleaning everything (phones, doorknobs, lightswitches) and even change clothes if you've been touching DH. Good luck!

@beaker: awe wow your so nice! I'm gonna run to rite aid pharmacy and see what they have. How long should we stay away from him? He got sick on Sunday night, his co worker was sick on Thursday. He also thought he may have ate some bad chicken but since his coworker was sick
Puking a few days before, I'm sure it's the flu,

So, face mask, Lysol , lots of hand washing...-anything else???

@jh524: any pharmacy or medical supply (or sams club, Costco) should have them, you can just buy a box of disposable ones. If you had more than two days lead time I'd just mail you some :)

@googly-eyes,@Kimberlybee, @blackbird: ok, I will quarantine him to our bedroom. Poor guy. I wonder, if he's feeling better can he still be contagious ?
Any ideas on how I can keep lo and myself healthy? I'm boosting the Vit c and trying not to stress about it but I can't help it. I told him to get that Tamiflu as it stops the contagious spread of the virus and makes you feel better much quicker but he didn't get it.

And thanks for the responses gals :)

Little one is first priority! The flu in babies and the elderly are always scariest so I wouldn't want to risk the exposure. I don't think I could take a long road trip for vacation with my baby solo either so I would isolate my DH.

If it were ME because I'm a little crazy about stuff like that (and we just had what I think was the flu, yuck) I would isolate my husband in the bedroom, or go by myself...

I'm kinda starting to panic... My hubby works away from home every other week and has come down with flu symptoms. He'll be coming home in two days. We we're suppose to leave the following morning to visit family for our 1st road trip with our little guy.
So, I sent him to get a swab test but the hospital didn't do it! :( I'm worried because my son isn't protected from the flu. He's 8months. I did get a flu shot but so did my husband!! what do I do?!!! After reading it looks like the flu is contagious for up to a week after symptoms begin. I don't care about our trip as much as I care about protecting my lil man from the flu. Any advice??? My family has a cabin 30 minutes away I could go stay at. How sad though... What should I do? What do I doooo!!!?
