@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Ohhh... that explains a lot actually! I saw an ad the other day and was so confused.

Still though, almost never see ads anymore - totally worth it! Supposedly YouTube is coming out with a similar feature next month...

We have the ad-free Hulu too. Some shows are exempt like HTGAWM, but even still there's just one ad shown at the beginning of the show. Not bad!

Well I was beyond wrong. Hulu without ads is soooo much better!

@mrbee: netflix is great if you're willing to wait for seasons though! I pretty much stay a season behind on all my favorite shows, and then I can watch several episodes at a time on netflix when the seasons are updated. So I wouldn't say it's just for old TV!
I do like hulu for that reason though, they have current episodes for shows I am caught up on. But I definitely see why netflix can only get the seasons after they're aired based on their price and no ads. In the article though, it was interesting to me that hulu still lags behind significantly regarding subscribers!

@Mrs Hedgehog: Netflix doesn't charge that much for their service so they can't afford to get the best shows on there! All of my favorite shows are on Amazon Prime or Hulu these days.... Netflix has become a bit of a graveyard! It's still good for old TV shows and movies, but nothing new or popular seems to be on there...

They bug me but partly because I pay for the darn service to begin with! I don't really get anything extra other than the ability to cast to Chrome from my phone (we don't pay for cable so its kinda a must.) Netflix charges the same and I don't get adds there. Why should I have to pay EVEN MORE to get the same service from Hulu?

Ugh... Rant over.

yes!! I just might take advantage of this. the ads bug me because they slow down my computer, and the "2:30" they're supposed to take, really take 5 minutes.

Right now, Hulu Plus costs $8/month but has ads... but you can pay $12/month and get no ads:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/03/business/media/hulu-starts-a-commercial-free-option-to-rival-netflix-and-amazon.html

I'm actually fine with ads - I use the breaks to stretch my legs or go to the bathroom. So I wouldn't pay the extra 4 bucks... but Bee probably would! She really dislikes ads.

Would you pay an extra 4 bucks a month for no ads?
