If we had a human-analogue breastmilk that we could give these kids as a short term solution while Moms work on their milk supply it would help these kids so much! Right now we are having this problem with 4 different kids in our NICU (2 sets of twins have this issue). A big thing that makes cow milk different is the composition of fats to sugars and the size of the protein and they're not changing either of those. It's a bit odd that they chose lysozyme as one of their examples. It's an enzyme that's already in cows milk. </p> <p>One of my biggest problems with GMOs is the misinformation they use to advertise. I don't see something all that wrong with mixing and matching genes, it's just so far it hasn't been done in a productive way. Like Monsanto has just made it so you can spray the crap out of soybeans with pesticides without them dying. I choose to breastfed to give my child the most natural and pure nourishment I could. I've continued to breastfeed dispute our food allergy struggles for the same reasons. We also choose to give organic homemade babygoods, again with the same thinking behind it.
