We have a Crane penguin in D's room and it's been fine. It crapped out after about a year, but I contacted the company and they replaced it for free!

In A's room we have this one https://www.amazon.com/Ultrasonic-Humidifier-Whisper-quiet-Operation-Shut-off/dp/B00URYFYC8/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1473967863&sr=8-7&keywords=humidifier I like it a little bit better because it's a finer mist that doesn't fall directly onto the floor, and I can add essential oils to it.

We have hard water, so I have to stay diligent about cleaning them or they get a hard film on them that I have to kind of scrape off. But that's on either humidifier. I think any humidifier is going to have risk of mold/mildew because it's wet in there all the time.

We also have a Crane teardrop and it's fine. I mean, I have really been enjoying the summer season of not using it, since it's a pain to empty and refill it every single day and then clean it once a week. But it does the job and I can't imagine any other humidifier would be any less prone to mildew. It's just the right environment for it.

We have Crane too, and we don't clear it as often as we should but I agree that it stays pretty clean! I've had to replace it after 1.5 years (not sure what happened). But I looked and looked and I still went back to a Crane.

We also have a crane tear drop. We use it every day in the winter and I disinfect it every Sunday afternoon with vinegar. Never had a mild problem.

@PinkElephant: Ditto. We have a tear drop one and a frog on in LO's room for 3 years now and both have worked really well.

We have 2 of these Honeywell ones and really like them: https://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-Germ-Free-Moisture-Humidifier/dp/B002QAYJPO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473952955&sr=8-1&keywords=honeywell+humidifier

We drop these in so we don't have to clean them constantly: https://www.amazon.com/ProTec-PC-1-Humidifier-Cleaning-Cartridge/dp/B000XPT0DK/ref=pd_bxgy_201_img_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=3DZ0GQZM676PW3VMKVCX

Pure Enrichment's is a good one. It has two settings, well four really since you can use a night light or not. No issues with mold.

We also have the Crane teardrop ones. We empty them every day in the morning and just leave them out to dry, and then fill them again in the evening. Never had any issues with mold and we've had them 3 years I think now.

We have the Crane ones that are shaped like tear drops and come in lots of colors. I'm very lazy about cleaning them, and they never get gross. They seem to do an ok job.

It's almost that time of year again and I'm thinking about humidifiers. I don't love any of the ones we have had. I feel like they get moldly slimy and funky easily. Which humidifier do you love?
