I actually had a cold when it arrived and plugged it in that night. We live in super-dry SoCal and I need it, especially with my eczema! After DH got used to having it on in our room, he can't even sleep well without one anymore!<br /> Eczema runs in my family and my cousins' kids all NEED a humidifier, not only in their rooms, but in their playrooms/living rooms as well. I would say if you lived in a humid state, no need. I wish we did use it when LO was a newborn because she was congested ALL the time and looking back, i think it would've helped. I read they're not really necessary, but I thought I would ask a few real moms. So, do you use a humidifier? If so, how frequently? Is it a must have?</p> <p>Also, just wanted to add that we live at sea level on the coast of Virginia, so it's definitely not a dry climate. </p>
