We only use it in the winter. I should take it out of the closet this week.

We bought one about a month ago because DS (now 13 months old) had croup. We only used it while he was sick.

We just bought one for our bedroom...it's really dry in the winter with the heat running all the time. My skin is soooo parched.

We skipped it on our registry and just had to buy one as LO got her first cold. :( We bought a cold mist one and also picked up a vaporizer from vicks because it was pretty cheap and we thought the vicks vapors would help. That is warm steam. I'm not sure when we'll use which one, but we now have both. Lesson? Should have just registered for one.

We got a coolmist one because the nursery will def need a heater (we got the vornado) during the winter and I don't want it to be too dry.

We only use one when my LO is sick/congested. And I make sure to clean it thoroughly every day. I really need to get a hygrometer though!

Both our kids sleep with humidifiers every day, the cool mist kind. In the summer we use it mainly as white noise (it's super loud and the perfect frequency to drown out voices) without filter or water, but in the winter we actually use it as humidifier. It kills two birds with one stone!

You won't necessarily need to use a humidifier on a daily basis unless it's really dry in your baby's room or if he/she is sick. I recommend getting a reliable hygrometer so you know the humidity level in your baby's room to know when it's too dry or humid. My sons' allergist actually doesn't recommend humidifiers b/c it actually creates mold if you don't monitor the humidity level properly while using it. I still use it but I do have a hygrometer and a thermometer in both their rooms so I don't make it too moist when it's on; but I only use it when they are sick.

Does your LO sleep with a humidifier on everyday? I registered for a cool mist one, which I heard is good if the baby is sick, but what about a regular one?
