Around that age I really enjoyed The Giver, Wrinkle In Time series, and the Hobbit -- all similar adventure type books. I also agree Narnia would be a good series if she hasn't already read it. I was an elementary librarian when the series first came out, and I had a ton of 5th graders really into it (they had to put it on hold from the middle schools and do an interlibrary loan). I had some of my 5th graders read it, and it was perfect for some of them, and others were quite disturbed. If she's a strong reader and wants to try it, I'd get it for her. I wanted to get her a book series with this "toy" gift. So I thought why not the trilogy but the reading level on Amazon is stating Grades 7 and above. </p> <p>For anyone that has read it do you think the reading level is ok for a 10 year old?
