I really wanted to love these as I live in a city where it rains 9 months of the year - but I just can't! I've tried them on in store several times and just never find them comfortable at ALL. One time they were even on for 50% off and I still didn't like them enough to buy them.

@sslm: I have some and love them. For what it's worth, I bought black and I'm glad I did. I have pretty thick calves (I call them "athletic") and the shaft of the Hunter boots fits me in skinny jeans so I've been pleased. I don't wear them when it's not raining (or has rained and the streets are wet). My feet sweat a little in them, but only when it's hot outside. I live in the deep deep South.

Also, they get more comfortable over time. They might be a little stiff at first so don't be intimidated. I've worn my to football games and walked miles in them.

Thanks for all the input!! I did go and try them on and I thought they were pretty comfy. I live in a wet climate with a somewhat snowy winter. I would only be wearing them in the fall/spring though... maybe on the mild days in the winter.

I've had mine 4 years and love them. They have held up well and I live in a rainy climate. I've also used them in snow with the socks. I think it's works ok because I didn't want to buy snow boots for one week in the snow. But if snow is normal for winter for you, I would use them strictly as rain boots.

Love mine. I got them so I could play in the rain, the yard, or the farm with my son in all weather conditions. My feet don't sweat in them. I didn't buy their matching socks...I have plenty of good hiking socks and other warm options.

I have mixed feelings. I've worn mine a ton during rain and snow. I have the socks too. My complaints - one buckle broke off the rubber but I was able to get it fixed by a cobbler and I've basically worn through the soles. I don't know whether I'll replace them or not.

Hate mine. They're heavy, the tread looks impressive but is actually very slippery, and the shaft is uncomfortable because it's so narrow. I'd recommend going to a store and trying them on to see if you like them before committing to them as a gift option.

I like them for rain, not snow. The socks aren't that useful( they slip around and bunch up.

Love them. I have 3 pairs. Go try some on. I am 5' 4" and can't wear talls they go over my kneecap. If you have a Nordstrom they have lots of styles.

They are just ok in my book. Great for rain, but I find them pretty bulky/heavy. Without the socks, they are freezing in the winter, but with the socks, my feet/legs sweat to death. I tend to just use them on really rainy days when I don't want to be soaked when I get to the office. (I work in NYC so I have to walk outside for a bit. If I didn't have that commute, I would probably never wear them.)

@Tidybee: I agree. I bought some last year and never choose to wear them. The socks make them too tight to pull over leggings and besides that they don't bend at all so they end up hurting my legs. Plus they are very heavy. Just my two cents!

There may be a recent post on them somewhere in the boards. Personally I'm not that happy with mine. They're fine but I don't think they're anything special for the price. I think they're heavy, hot and clunky. I have the socks too and I just find them kind of annoying.

Anyone have them?

My MIL is an extravagant Christmas gift giver (she's also easy to get along with - well aware how lucky I am!!!) and always asks us to put one big item on our list. I'm thinking of asking for hunter boots this year.

Do they breathe well or do your feet get sweaty? Do you wear them when it's not raining? Does anyone also have the hunter socks to go with them?
