sorry to hear about the computer but so glad they rescued your photos! As for future storage ideas, I can't recommend Dropbox enough!!!. Their app can take every picture you take on your phone and automatically upload into your Dropbox, which is stored in the cloud.

Your laptop is probably toast, but there is a pretty good chance they'll be able to pull your hard drive and retrieve the data, as long as the coffee didn't damage it.

I'm sorry to hear this! I haven't had this exact thing happen, but I do think there's a chance they can retrieve your data even if the laptop is beyond repair. If the processor or battery is damaged that could cause it to not turn on, but the hard drive might still work.

I had a desktop that stopped turning on because the fan got full of dust and it overheated (oops!). The HD was failing, but I was able to grab the data off it one final time before it died for good.

I hope the Apple tech can help you! :goodluck:

Oh I am so sorry! I have no advice, but I can tell you that I know that feeling. I lost my external hard drive that had all of the pictures of my LO when she was a baby. 2 years later, I eventually found it, so I hope they can work miracles and get that info off.

I would think that they could put your hard drive into another computer and extract the data if the hard drive is still intact.

My husband spilled coffee on my laptop on Friday. We put it in a tray of rice overnight (well over 24 hours), but it won't turn on at all. I have little hope that it will recover, but am really, really hoping they can pull some data off of it. Particularly photos. All of my LO's photos and videos are on there. I could have sworn I'd backed them up to the external hard drive multiple times since he was born, but there are only photos from our wedding and before--I have no idea why. I would be so devastated if I lost all the photos of LO.

I dropped it off at a mac store today, but the tech isn't in today and will run the diagnostic tomorrow. Please tell me happy stories about how this exact thing happened to you and all of your data was recovered and fixed forever...
