I stick it under his tongue and sort of move it around his lower gums. I scrape whatever is left on my finger onto his gums as I take my finger out.

I just kind of poke them in his mouth one at a time and then smear them around his mouth if he spits them out. It's a highly scientific approach.

I have always just put them in however, I don't hold them in. They dissolve super fast and seem to give relief anyway. My DS loves them and takes them really well. Good luck!

Our older toddler will just eat them on her own. I think as long as they sit in the mouth you'd be fine.

I don't put them under her tongue. I just let her eat them however she would like. And I always giver her 3.

@twobee: I only suggest that because I bought another brand once and the instructions were to dissolve in water... Who knows?

I wondered about that! I was just worried that in water they wouldn't be topical enough - but I don't have any real idea how they work. Our girls are 5 months old and so far only the one is teething, but I am assuming it's around the corner.

You can try dissolving in a tiny bit of water and then giving them like that! My kid would just straight up eat them but I didn't offer them until he was close to 1.

We are in the throes of some brutal teething. Our poor girl has been waking up in serious pain - kicking her legs and rolling from side to side, and crying way more desperately than the norm. She hasn't figured out that she can use her hands to put the teether in her own mouth so it's been a fair amount of us sitting with her and rubbing her gums with it until she calms down enough to go back to sleep.

I finally bought some Hyland's tablets to try and gave her a couple this morning. They seem promising - she did settle and go back to sleep a good bit faster than she would have otherwise. But I realized when I put her down that about half a tablet was stuck to my finger (because I'd been holding it under her tongue to dissolve). So I don't even know how much she got!

Has anyone else used the tablets? Is there a trick to dissolving them? I feel like I need to keep a finger in her mouth until they dissolve because if she's crying they won't stay put.
