She had a med free birth and raved about it. I had to have a bunch of interventions, but until that point I found hypnobabies to be very useful. I've also heard that it's most effective in early labor &amp; then usually the moms instinctual birthing side comes out and the visualization &amp; such flies out the window.</p> <p>I'll probably use a combination of hypnosis/relaxation &amp; then more partner coached in the end..... Obviously I can't tell you how well it works for birth, but I will tell you that when I was going through some serious insomnia in my second trimester, I downloaded the Hypnobabies "Peaceful Sleep" mp3 and it works like a charm. I'm really enjoying the Hypnobabies tracks at this point. </p> <p>In full disclosure, my husband and I are also taking a Hypnobirthing class at our hospital. I really wanted to take a Hypnobabies class, as I don't think you're supposed to combine most of the natural childbirth methodologies (for best results, anyway), but Hypnobirthing was all that was available around this timeframe--and so far, they are very, very similar. I prefer the Hypnobabies CDs, though--much more comprehensive and a more soothing voice.
