*Update:

Got a call from my GP today, my blood work came back completely normal. She's sending me for a thyroid ultrasound on Wednesday because she still thinks it's that, and I should have results by the end of next week. This waiting game stinks!

Don't over analyze, the stress will make it harder to conceive. I had thyroid cancer and had my thyroid removed about 7 years ago. I'm on synthroid and have a beautiful daughter. I was able to conceive and was able to drop the weight quickly (a lot of walking, breast feeding and watching what I ate). When you have hypothyroidism it will always be a battle with your weight but you have to be diligent.

My doctor and endo monitored me very closely and I had to get blood drawn every 4 weeks when I was pregnant. I was also vitamin d deficient so I had to take additional vitamins for that. Work closely with your endo and ob.

Good luck!

I developed hashimoto's after my first child was born and my TSH was in the mid 60s. I got on meds and within a few months I was under control, and a few months later conceive on my first try and had my second child with no issues whatsoever. There is a lot online that makes you scared -- I saw it too -- but I think those are people who are not getting adequate treatment.

I was diagnosed with hypothryoidism at my first visit with my RE. I got pregnant that same cycle before I had even been able to start taking levothyroxine. I started medication about 6 weeks into my pregnancy and I've taken it everyday since then. They monitor your levels monthly while you're pregnant. I don't foresee any issue with my son, nor conceiving the next due to my hypothyroidism.

@Wheres_C - I'll def let you know. We've been TTC for 10 cycles now. I put on 60 lbs over the last 3 years. At first my doctor though the small amount of weight I put on in the beginning was from some anxiety meds I'm on, but this time she saw me and knew right away I put on a LOT and was very concerned. My mom has the same issue but she was diagnosed after having my sister and I. Thanks for the vote of confidence :)

don't over analyze!
let us know what your numbers are.
I take 175mcg of synthroid/day. I was NTNP and had an oopsie pregnancy.
how long have you been TTC?
I was a size 8 pre diagnosis, then ballooned to a size 16 before learning of my thyroid issues. since I was diagnosed 10 years ago, my weight has been completely stable. I havent lost but havent gained either.
during pregnancy they monitored my levels constantly and had to increase my dose of hormones, but now I have a healthy nine month old.

@Pui - I should know on Friday/Monday when my blood results come back. I will make sure to ask what the results were, even though I don't know yet what they mean. Glad that your doctors are feeling good about your fertility.

@Sandy - thanks for this. I am definitely heading back to the gym and forcing myself to go diligently. I haven't been good about it lately and that doesn't help.

I'm trying to look at things as if I get pregnant, I just can't put on much because I already have, and I'll go to the gym to try to get myself in better shape before I get KU if I can for sure.

Everything I read about thyroid issues brought up fertility issues which was scary but I has no issues getting pregnant.

I was severely hyperthyroid and had 2 thyroid ablations with radioactive iodine - so they killed my thyroid function and i became hypothyroid and was put on synthroid. It's the tiniest pill (micrograms - smaller than a Claritin tablet)...and it changed my life.

I had no problem getting pregnant and I lost the pregnancy weight no problem. Once my LO weaned I gained some weight and like most people I would love to lose a few more pounds but that's my fault for indulging in treats and skipping out on exercising...can't blame it on my thyroid

If your numbers are managed by synthroid you should have no trouble conceiving.

Do you know what your numbers are? TSH, free T3, free T4?

I also was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, so I know how you feel. I even posted a very similar post to this. Now that my numbers are in check, my doctor and RE both say it shouldn't be a problem fertility wise.

Please give me some hope, bees.

Were any of your diagnosed with Hypothyroid when TTC and still able to conceive with no issues? How did you find your weight loss journey after you gave birth?

I am overanalyzing everything I'm reading online. Hypoth. means more chances of m/c, much tougher time losing weight, etc etc. Even though my doctor said I should have no issues once she puts me on a the hormone replacement, I'm just nervous things will never happen.

Sorry if I sound like a huge whiner. I'm kind of lost right now.
