(hypo). My TSH was 60. Not good.</p> <p>I was worried, like you, about having another child, because of everything I had read. BUT, I got on treatment and had ABSOLUTELY no trouble conceiving less than a year later, and now I'm at 7 months and the baby is looking perfect. My endocrinologist told me the problems happen if your levels are not right. But with medication, if you get your levels right, you should be fine. I conceived on the first cycle of trying this time. </p> <p>Like @photomommy said, I did have to have some extra appointments with the endocrinologist during pregnancy, but the first 9-10 weeks are the absolute most important because your baby does not have a thyroid until after that, and depends on yours. Later in the pregnancy it's mostly to make sure the baby's growing OK and you're feeling comfortable.</p> <p>Taking a pill every morning and waiting 30 minutes to an hour to eat anything does kind of suck when you have morning sickness, I must say!! I also had acupuncture during that timeframe and credit my pregnancy in part to that.</p> <p>PCOS and hypothyroid often go hand in hand. I have both. I did have trouble TTC. It took us 3 years, but I also found out after I was pregnant and with a new dr. that I had been under medicated, I went to an endocrinologist who confirmed that it was likely the cause for our trouble TTC. So, it's great that you have it figured out now rather than later! I did weekly acupuncture treatments that really helped get my cycles in order too, I'd highly recommend it and am convinced that it was a huge help in getting pregnant! After the thyroid ablation I am now hypothyroid and take a thyroid hormone supplement everyday (tiny pill...measured in micrograms). I was worried bc everything I read said a side effect of thyroid issue was infertility but I got pregnant after 2 months of trying. I think it's just important to get treated and take good care of your body. Now I just get blood work done once a year to monitor my thyroid levels (giving birth makes your thyroid levels go crazy!) and I feel a million times better than I did before I found out about my thyroid issues. I just had the bloodwork done and have elevated levels. Seeing a doctor next week but couldn't help but google... I have a lot of the symptoms and am worried about what it is/what to expect, as they mentioned that infertility might be a side effect. We are not yet TTC but I am definitely thinking about it and want to get some feedback on this! </p>
