If you're tracking your periods and seemingly regular, you may not have to do all the OPKs and such but I was a huge fan of Taking Charge of your Fertility and temping/charting to know my body better. I never temped for the first pregnancy, just used the same OPK that you are using and it worked really well. Got pregnant the first month we got a positive ovulation test (after NTNP for a year). Basically you need a basal body thermometer and you take your temp at the same time every day, first thing in the morning before you get out of bed. Then you record the temp (I used Fertility Friend). Your temp will spike (by 0.2 - 0.4+ degrees) when you ovulate and stay high until you get your period.</p> <p>Doing this allowed me to really figure out when I actually ovulate (CD 16/17 normally for me, vs the "normal" CD 14). I am learning a lot , probably more than I need at this point, and I appreciate the shares. I am hoping for a little advice in my unique little situation. </p> <p>My DH and I are going to start TTC soon. I am on Day 3 of my period. Since we haven't really tried before we don't know what to expect if any issues arise. </p> <p>Here is where it gets tough:He recently took a job at Nike in Oregon and I am teaching in Seattle for one more year. According to my ovulation/period apps I will be most fertile the middle of next week. With this in mind I/we (ha!) decided that I would take Thursday and Friday off with the hopes that we can increase our chances of success. We will be trying the weekend before until Tuesday morning when I have to leave and then I will be back Wednesday night. </p> <p>I ordered the Wondfo combo OPK and I think I get how to use them (twice a day, early afternoon and then later, keep them and watch for the line to get dark and match the test line). I have been taking prenatals for quite a while now too.</p> <p>Now that this long-winded story is out of the way is there anything else I should be doing or taking into consideration to help the process? </p> <p>Thanks so much!
