I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. It sounds incredibly stressful and tiring.

That said, I agree that sleep training is probably the only way to deal with this. It might be rough for a few days, but honestly I don't think it could be worse than what you're currently facing. Agree with others that maybe you should separate the girls and work on the youngest's sleep.

Oh my gosh - there has to be a way to sleep train. It's the only option at this point, I think. Do you have a cot or spare bed you can put in your room for your older DD for a few days?

Can you move your older DD into your room for a few days and work on sleep training your 1 yr old?

That sucks :(

Have your parents moved, yet? I'd send the kids over to their house one night before they go, to give yourself a much needed good night's sleep.

When the youngest is up, do you turn on lights or move her out of the room?

Both lo's sleep terribly. M (3 in Oct) goes to bed at 9, and wakes up for water at some point (2am), I can handle that. What I'm having a hard time handling is C (she'll be 1 on Sunday). We start bedtime at 8:30 and she's asleep at 10. I can't start earlier because of my work schedule and dinner is late. She'll nurse to sleep, then she is up from 12:30-2 or 3, then up from 3-4 or 5 or good. She's been up since 3 tonight, it's 5 and I need to be up at 6. This has been going on for months and I feel like I'm going to crack.
She's also started biting me while nursing for fun, she actually smiles and laughs, and while she's up she nurses and twists/pinches my nipple. I am so over this and have no idea what to do. Sleep training is out because she shares a room with her sister. Add in my Husband not being home, a moody 12 year old boy, and my parents moving 6 hours away and you've got a recipe for disaster!
Sorry this is a long vent from a Sleep deprived Mama!!
