@Mrs. Jump Rope: Mine whines like yours- all tone. It is not necessarily related to a request or behavior, she just speaks in this reeeeeeeeeeeeeeahly whiny tone. She is 26 months and I have not had much success explaining normal tone from whiny tone. Usually when I say use her big girl voice she just whines with more volume, lol. I hate it and I am oddly embarrassed by it if we are in public.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: The whining is a new thing for us and I've gotta say- not lovin it. You and I are going to holds hands, sit around a campfire and sing kumbaya, because I understand. It literally makes me feel my veins constricting and my head about to pop off.

At 21 months she's a big whiner, cries when she doesn't get her way. I'm sorry I'm not giving you fruit snacks in the morning when you wake up! I'm with you, no advice because nothing is working in my household either!

Oh dear, we are entering the threenager stage and whining and tantrums are at their worst ever. My husband has a really low tolerance for whining, I can ignore it pretty well. It's been a rough couple of weeks in our house and I'm afraid its on the horizon for awhile.

LO is 18 months so his whines are generally nonverbal. He is very verbal so we just tell him to tell us what he wants. The funny thing is now he will start to whine and then go, "no whining!"

She'll be 3 in a month, so it's better. I told her I won't hear her until she uses her normal voice, I'll ignore whining. It took a while, but it seems to be working.

Believe me, I have tried everything that's already been suggested!

I'm about to start taking a toy away every time she whines. It's ridiculous. It's not even always about something, it's literally her tone of voice. I took a video of it this morning!

We have just starting telling her, she needs to use her big girl voice and talk to us normally or she won't get what she's requesting. Usually her whine is because she's trying to sound cute or like a baby so asking her to repeat what she said helps.

I haaaate whining. I usually tell him "honey you are using a whiny voice" and/ or "please use your words" when he is straight up just moaning and whining over something. If you figure it out let me know!

LO has started entering a whiny phase too. It's not all the time, but it drives me crazy nonetheless. We tell her some version of, "Mommy's ears can't hear whining, so you need to speak like a big girl." Or, "Mommy will answer you when you can stop whining." I don't even know how/how much she understands, but it seems to work. I basically ignore her until she changes her tone/attitude. Of course, if she's really worked up and having a tough time figuring it out I'll talk it through with her.

I think it's just random. Some days I want to poke my eyes out and count the days until her daycare opens back up, other days, like today, she's perfectly content on just making a mess. Lol. I never thought I would be happy for her mess making!

When does it stop? How can I encourage it to go away? I do not understand how a tiny person can whine so much about so many ridiculous things. It's like a tone of voice at this point. All day every day, from the time she wakes up until the time she goes to sleep.

MAKE THIS GO AWAY. Whining is my kryptonite and I'm losing my patience.
