It also seems my kid is in the minority--seems like most of the LOs (at least on this thread!) are fine with just the mat. And we've used it for 5 months when we travel, his sleep just sucks worse than normal. LO slept great on it for 4 nights at my mom's while we were away for a wedding and we're currently en route to the beach for 5 nights with it. Hopefully the trend continues but I definitely think it's worth having. He generally doesn't sleep all that well when we travel. I was lying in bed last night (well, this morning--around 4:30) and I realized...I never bought a mattress for the PnP. Poor baby's been trying to sleep on that mat thing on the bottom which is not very thick nor particularly comfortable, I'm sure. I can't believe it never occurred to me until now to buy a mattress for it for when we travel. </p> <p>We're leaving on Thursday for a week and a half so I got on my phone and ordered one from Amazon at 4:30 this morning. It's supposed to get here Thursday (not overnight option). We don't have a set departure time save "early afternoon" but I'm not leaving until it gets here (luckily UPS usually delivers in the AM). </p> <p>I feel so bad having made him sleep on that hard thing for months! Of course he wasn't going to sleep well! </p> <p>Have you had any "Why did this never occur to me?" face-palm moments lately? </p>
