Thanks everyone for your responses so far.
@Thehistoryofus: Yeah since my husband went in to talk to the director I feel things have already changed for the better. I am hesistant to move her unless I can be sure its a better place for her. Some of the more expensive places still had things I didnt like such as allowing shoes in the baby room etc,

@MamaG: Yeah it is hard to tell what my gut really wants! I am on the fence about paying that deposit. That place is quite small and doesnt have some of the things my current daycare has. My current daycare is actually quite good in theory, its just some of the people there that I was having issues with. I'm so confused.

@Honeybee: I dont know much about home care to be honest. I think I feel more secure with a small/medium center, in my mind I feel like they will follow the rules more? I just dont think I'm ready to send my LO to someone elses home.

Are you definitely set on a center? I think it'd be easy to find a home daycare for that price, but obviously that wouldn't work out if you really want a center.

We changed daycares 2 months ago. I wish we did it sooner. We are paying more and it is completely worth it. Go with your gut. Maybe go ahead and pay the deposit to get on the wait list for the one that is available next year. At least then you know you have a new place lined up that will make you happier.

We have looked at other places but kept her where she was. I think a lot has improved with our current teacher and communication with her so thats why we have stayed. As she transitions to the next class (with new teachers) we may look around again to make sure we still want to keep her there.

At the start of this week I was really pumped to find a new daycare for my LO and switch her because of some of the issues I had been having at my current place. My current place is a medium sized care facilty and has recently won parents awards for being the best care in the area.
I visited several other day cares this week and cant find a single one that I really like thats in my budget, the really nice ones are $1400 or more, but we cant afford to go much higher than $1000. I did find one for $1000 but they are very small and dont have any availability until next year.
I'm so confused. Meanwhile in the last few days DH visited the daycare and spoke to the director and since then things have really improved. Now I dont know if I should still keep looking for a better place or not. Has anyone been this torn over daycares?
