@BeachMama: she just turned two. My husband is always the one that gives in to her too, but surprisingly he stuck it out with me. And we didn't even discuss it ahead of time!

I'm often surprised at how much more ability to understand things my LO has. I underestimate her often.

@JennyD - how old is she?

DD is 20 months. I feel like she's still too young to reason with much. I try to do the dinner or nothing thing but my DH often backs down, which drives me nuts.

Oooh I just waged this particular war last week! Mine just picks at dinner and then demands snacks once dinner is done. I said no and stood my ground all night, and she at warmed up dinner! I was very "no big deal" about it. It was dinner or nothing.

I was surprised that it didn't take too long for her to come around.

I'm so frustrated. My kid doesn't eat anything but bread, Cheerios, and fruit cups. For dinner I made a veggie burger, sweet potatoes, and some veggie soup, and a few pieces of bread. She licked the ketchup off the potatoes and only ate the bread. Earlier in the day I cut up some mango for her and she wouldn't eat it....only her fruit cup. How did she get so picky??? I swear my next one I'm only feeding veggies!
