Were we ever in for a surprise! She's small, though, so she's either a pocket purebred or a mix with all of the breed traits for a pointer. Having gotten a pointer, though, I could never go back! We are on a similar situation. We are on cycle 4, put out 12 year old down at the end of December. We contacted a breeder to potentially get a dog in the apring... Well got a phone call on Tuesday that a litter of 10 pure labs are being rescued this weekend. We are going to meet then on Sunday... And if all goes well wih the vet on Monday am one will go home with us on Monday night ..... Our 1.5 year old mutt is anxious for a friend. I am not so sure on this whole young puppy thing. Two weeks later we found out we were pregnant.
