@littlek: my DH was a radio DJ when we first met and lots of times he worked 10pm to 2am and 1am to 6am. I NEVER woke up - our house even got broken into once, they came into our bedroom where I was sleeping and I still didn't wake up. Oh how times have changed...

@BabyBoecksMom: might have to try that, at least for the weekends where I don't have to be presentable in an office meeting at 8am. thanks!

@rachiecakes: The dosage on that says to take 2 pills, I take a 1/2 of one... so a 1/4 a dose. It might make you a little groggy, but trust me, you'll still wake up. It just makes it easier to go back to sleep if you do wake up before you want to.

Me!!

I wake up around 5/5:30 every morning for no reason. I end up staring at the monitor waiting for LO to wake up...which is 1-2 hours later. On the rare occasion I can fall back asleep. I usually get 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep, but 7-8 would be heavenly!

I've taken lots of supplements and sleep aides from Gravol to melatonin to homeopathic remedies to chamomile tea to help me stay asleep but nothing's really worked :(.

@TurtleDoves: only coffee in the early morning - cause I need it! :)
we live in a tiny townhouse but have a giant master bedroom. DS is in a nook of our room. he sleeps great but I can't sleep for the life of me.
I think I might try yoga again. I remember having the best sleep of my life after a class before. It's just tough when I work long days and still clean house, make dinner, and most importantly spend time with DS.

@MamaMoose: DS didn't sleep through the night until 9 months and for a period there was reverse cycling, he refused bottles during the day so I was nursing every 2 hours after working a 7:30-5:30, it was very rough. I had him in bed with me for a long time, just rolling over to nurse so I could sleep, too. DS is fine but my sleep schedule is completely off now. (he's 13 months)

@rachiecakes: I am scared to take anything Either. The one night we do will be the one night the LOs wake up;)
I am just now (like last 2w) started to sleep. Even then, I wake up every 5-6h and look at the monitor in disbelief that it isn't screaming. My son has been sttn (9-12h) since 10w old and for the last 6w I've only enjoyed 5-6h night....maybe more if I can fall asleep after waking up randomly. It's so tough
I think only time will help the situation but in the meantime maybe consider these:

Do you drink coffee? I make sure y last cup is before 2pm so I'm able to wind down at 9pm (Los bedtime)
Also: maybe you need a bedtime routine too;) hehe
Like...shower...read for 15m...lotion up it get a foot rub...things like that. And if you have a monitor, turn it wayy down so you're not waking up to every peep & stir he makes.

I'm terrible at falling asleep (staying asleep is no issue for me). So night wakings can be tough for me. I hate when I get her back to sleep and then I'm up huffing and puffing trying to get back to sleep for and hour! Hubs helps me out by doing the diaper change and bringing her to me so all I have to do is sit up and pull out a boob do I don't get too awake.

@BabyBoecksMom: I'm so scared to take anything because DH is a real heavy sleeper - it takes like, a siren to wake him up. I'm worried that if I took something I wouldn't get up and DH wouldn't either...

I had a hard time with it. I actually had to take some Simply Sleep on some nights to force me to sleep through the night. Eventually I got back to it, but it's taken months.

Sounds like you need to train yourself back to sleeping! Last night was the first night that I was able to sleep when LO was sleeping during both of her night stretches. It felt good. If nothing else, lay down and rest as much as possible.

DS is a pretty good sleeper. Sometimes he'll wake up and I'll bring him to bed with me but he's good about going to sleep and staying in bed for at least 10 hours.

Why is it that I cannot sleep for more than 6 hours?? When he wasn't sleeping through the night it was understandable. But now - last night he went to bed at 8, I went to bed around 10 and finally fell asleep about an hour later, woke up just before 5am. DS was still sleeping and slept until 7am but I could not fall back asleep.

Anyone else have a baby/toddler that's a good sleeper and suddenly you're not?
Did I just get used to not sleeping and now I have to sleep train myself??
