@Revel: Thanks!! MOST of the time I get 4oz combined from both sides.. this crazy 11 or 6 stuff only happened once she dropped all her night feedings but one, so the other boob goes from 8pm-7:30am without expressing... the first pump of the day is very productive.

@Smurfette: Thanks!!! And I dunno - I need to touch base with DH about it. I'd love to drop a pump session at work, if nothing else. But don't see any reason to wean right away. Especially since we're going on vacation in a few weeks and don't think changing her eating dramatically before then is such a good idea. Plus boobs on the plane will be easy.

@marionberry: Me too! It had never happened before. And I don't think I am getting more as she gets older, I am just super engorged in the morning if she doesn't eat much overnight.

Congratulations! And I'm impressed by 11 ounces! The most I've ever gotten from one breast is 6. Has it increased as your lo has gotten older?

@JoJoGirl: Congrats on making your goal!! Are you going to keep it up?

Boobs are weird like babies. They are so different day by day. I weaned over two weeks ago and now I am leaking. I don't get it.

Congrats on reaching your goal! My output varies but occasionally I'll end up with a good two ounces more than normal, and it's usually dependent on how much she nursed overnight. I also have a sort of pattern through the week - where Mondays and Fridays are low output, and then it kind of peaks on Wednesday-Thursday.

Also, I've never gotten 11 ounces or even 6 ounces in a single session, so wow!

@Adira: Hmmm good question - yeah at the end of the day I ended up with maybe 2 oz more than normal, but it varies SO MUCH, like a range of 6-7oz from day to day. LO was totally ravenous for some reason on Monday when I was home with her, so maybe they kicked it up a notch.

Congratulations on making it to 6 months!!!

And our boobs are crazy! But I'm curious - how were your boobs the rest of the day? Did you end the day with 5 extra oz than normal? I find that when I pump an amazing amount in the morning, I usually get less than normal in the afternoon, or vice-versa! Boobs are weird!

Yay for making your goal!!

And I have no idea about what's normal. I know the one time I was away from the baby all day and pumped, I expected a little more than when I pump an hour after she eats. Nope, same amount. Weird.

Yesterday LO nursed at 5:30am (she always only eats on one side). When I got to work at 7:30, I was TOTALLY engorged on the other side, pumped and ended up with *11 stinking ounces*!! Psyched, right? Today, same thing - she ate at 5:30 on the other side, got to work, and pumped 6. WTF? Why is it so inconsistent? Does water play THAT big of a role?

Also: today is LOs 6 month birthday so we made our nursing goal, yippee!
