I know he doesn't mean it but it still sucks to hear. If he repeats it and is really bent on letting me know I tell him it's ok, mommy loves you enough for the both of us. When he gets in a jealous mood he'll say Emily (lo2) don't love you mama! Funny kid.

He says I don't like you when he doesn't get his way. Or that I'm not his best friend. So far it doesn't really hurt or bother me because I know he doesn't mean it and doesn't truly understand what it means.

Oh yeah. She says it when she's upset, though I haven't heard it in a few weeks so that's good.

The last time she said it to me she also SANG it to me. She listens to the classic R&B station with her nanny and first she said "Mommy, I don't love you any more" because I wouldn't play Michael Jackson at bedtime. Then she sang "I don't love you anymore," which is a Teddy Pendergrass song. It was so cute but it hurt.

Sometimes my son will spring this on me when our attachment is not strong, but lately I've been spared this one for the most part. It's a relief, because he was killin' me over the past few months when he would break that out!

But in heartbreaking news, my three-year-old daughter started saying "I don't love you!" when we disagree about something. She's been so sweet for so many years! I guess her threenager years are finally upon her... I was hoping she'd somehow skip those!

Do your kids ever drop "I don't love you!" bombs on you?
