I wouldn't mind one night wake up as long as she is still nursing.

@MamaMoose: Sorry, hopefully your LO is STTN sooner than mine. You're nighttime doesn't sound so bad. Yeah, we went thru a phase where he was waking every 2 hours. Right now it takes awhile to get him down for the night, but he's been waking up about twice to nurse. Roughly 2 am & 5 am, so it's an improvement. I just wished he hadn't spoiled me with his 10 hour stretches.

A is still waking 3-4 times a night at 6 months old so we are probably far from sttn but I worry about it. I really don't want AF back. I also love our night time snuggles.

@mrskc: Noooo don't tell me that!!

LO is getting better. She went through a phase where she was waking every hour. Now that she has learned to roll on her side and can get more comfortable she usually has one wake up to eat and one wake up for a paci replacement. I still miss the 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep but I can handle this schedule for the time being!

LO started sleeping through the night really early (8 weeks). My supply never took a hit. I REALLY like my sleep, so I wasn't sad when I was able to sleep through the night too.

My supply wasn't affected at all once my LO STTN and I didn't get my period back until 3 weeks after he weaned at 12 months! I was also lucky and didn't deal with leaky boobs, engorgement, mastitis or blocked ducts during those 'milestones.' Everyone getting uninterrupted sleep is a good thing!! :D

@MamaMoose: This is my son too. :( 2-4 months he slept thru the night and hasn't since and he's almost 6 months. boo

I wish DS would sleep thru the night again. But I could see your perspective in that you enjoy the quiet moments with your LO.

I did from 6-8 months, but by the time he reached 10 months I was so over it and just wanted a night of uninterrupted sleep! I still love early morning snuggles, but he can stay in his own bed all night and I'd be thrilled!

Glad to see I'm not the only one. DD started STTN at about 12 weeks and it probably led some to my supply issues.

@Mrs. Bee: I agree having 2 does make you exhausted.

My LO has slept through the night off and on for her entire 11 months. I enjoy the nights that she does much more than the nights she doesn't :). My supply has been great, and I think that's mostly to nursing on demand the whole time. And I still haven't gotten my period back.

@swurlygurl: @MamaMoose: Same here. 10+ hours by 10 weeks until 4.5 months. It's been off and on since.

@purrpletulips: DS didn't STTN until 9.5 months and that was definitely when he started to bf less and less. For a while we were reverse-cycling, it was exhausting (esp. working full time!).
But I totally missed the snuggling through the night thing. At least now at 15 months he still wakes me up at 6:30am. He's my alarm clock :)

My LO slept through the night 6 hours plus from 4 weeks, and then 8 hours plus by 8 weeks. I never experienced a supply dip (Shes still ebf) and my period is still MIA 5 months pp. Enjoy your extra sleep! My last feeding is around 5-6 pm and then the next one is at 5 am, with no pumping in between.

@swurlygurl: I hate to tell you this but my LO started STTN at 8 weeks and then at 3.5 months she decided she was done with that : (

I would loooove for LO to go back to STTN. My supply was fine when she did. And now a days whenever she sleeps better at night I just end up with a super amazing pumping session the next morning so I'm not too worried about it.

DD started SSTN, pretty early (at 9 weeks), and I do miss our alone time in the middle of the night. I don't necessarily hate the fact that I get that extra 45 minutes of sleep every night though...

Yes, I've worried about this as well, but mainly from a supply stand-point. I don't miss the getting up at 2AM bit, but I do enjoy the fact that DS nurses so well with no distractions. I would also want him to night-wean on his own rather than having to let him cry-it-out.

@mediagirl: My period came back two days ago, and I was like..."NooooooOOOO" because I'm only 8 months postpartum! I expected to get it back much later, like past a year! >_<

Yup, its part of why we didn't sleep train. It was pretty consistent that she was up around 2 and would be back down easily. Luckily when she did STTN my supply didn't mess up too bad.

I think DS is moving towards STTN (happened last 2 nights) and it makes me sad. While many mothers are thrilled when their LO starts STTN, after almost 7 months I've come to enjoy our uninterrupted/shared "alone" time at 2AM and am also afraid that my supply will start to dwindle once he starts regularly STTN. Am I the only mother whose felt this way?
