@scarletbegonia:, @jedeve:, @rachiecakes:. and @mrs. lemon-lime: thanks, ladies! It's reassuring that you all didn't think I was being a total jerk. And an update: I texted my friend to apologize and she said that she thought it was funny and hadn't responded because she fell asleep. My 2 other friends also thought it was funny. So I totally blew the whole thing out of proportion in my mind. Definitely a relief, and now we can have a fun night together.

There are better ways of telling your friend how much you will miss her and hope she feels better than teasing her. With that being said at least the clip you chose isn't making her out to be some sort of faking-sick-liar.

haha, we always call each other out on our BS, I think it's funny!
if she's offended, give her a call and apologize. :)

Aww. I fret about stuff like that often. Everyone appreciates an apology. Just send a note saying you truly don't want to offend her, you just feel like Ferris and really hope she is able to make it, sick or not. And if she can't, you hope you can see her soon!

I think that clip is hilarious - but if you're worried, why not just send her a private message or give her a call and tell her it was all in good fun (or lie & say your husband posted it, that's what I would do!)

Just a little rant because I'm super mad at myself right now...My 3 girlfriends and I have been planning to stay downtown at a hotel together tomorrow night for a mom's night off. We've known each other since elementary school. Anyways, one of them gets easily overwhelmed by life and being social, so she often backs out of plans. We don't take it personally.
We've all been pretty excited about tomorrow, so I was a little surprised today when this one friend said that she started feeling sick yesterday and isn't sure she's going to make it. When I mentioned it to my DH, he said that it reminded him of the part in Ferris Buellers Day Off when Ferris is trying to get Cameron to come out and Cameron is telling him that he is too sick. We pulled up the clip from YouTube and it was so funny that without really thinking, I posted it in my FB conversation with all 3 girls about tomorrow with a note for the one friend that I was just teasing her. Here's the clip: http://youtu.be/rIqWSPUh2rY
Now I'm realizing that it was too mean and that this person could be offended. I just meant it to be funny. Definitely wish I had taken a minute before sending it. Bleh. I don't want it to put a damper on tomorrow.
