@Emsmems: I gave DH 6 cards with pre-planned, pre-paid dates for Valentine's Day 2012. It was things like dinner out, bowling, drive-in, stuff like that.

Buy a cake and order some kind of take out that he'll like. My DH would rather have Chinese take out than pretty much anything else in the world.

I like the card from the baby idea too!

@Emsmems: he'll love it all, don't worry! I especially like the card from baby. I sent DH a text the other day that said "hi daddy" with a picture of my u/s on it (he couldn't come), and he was so super excited. It's fun to see them get happy about becoming daddies :)

@Mae: ooo, I like the envelopes with dates, I think I'm going to save that for our anniversary next month since I already got him expensive cologne! But I love that!

@Smurfette: haha, nice!

@MaisyMay: I love that idea of giving him a card from the baby! That is a great idea!! I'll get him that, a cake, some of his favorite ice cream, and we will be going out to dinner tomorrow night.

Thanks ladies, I knew I could count on the bees to come up with some creative ideas that my mind just can't conjure up right now!

@Emsmems: Can you pick up a card from Baby? Sign it something like "can't wait to meet you." Or order dinner from his favorite restaurant, eat it at home? Pick up cupcakes in flavors that he'll enjoy? Be cutesy and order flowers sent to him at work tomorrow?

Go to the grocery store and buy him a cake. Ain't nobody got time for homemade when you're pregnant and tired. Then maybe make him a coupon book of some sort? Night out at his favorite restaurant, back rub, date night planned totally by you, maybe some sexy stuff if that's your style. :)

Or you could do a few envelopes with different dates you have planned. Like monthly dates from now until the baby comes? Time together + your thought planning it + you can do it on the couch = win.

My husband's birthday is tomorrow and I haven't done anything for it. I bought him the cologne he wanted, but my plan was to make him a cake and a birthday card and get him another gift.

However, I'm so tired today, I feel like I can't get off the couch. I worked two 12 hour shifts the last two days and I am exhausted. Today is my day off (he is at work until 7am tomorrow) and I had all these plans, and I'm so tired. I know my husband would tell me it's ok, I need to rest and take care of myself and the baby, but I feel bad. This is his last birthday before he will be a daddy, and I wanted to make it special. I just have no energy to come up with anything creative. (And now I'm in tears, damn pregnancy hormones).

And so, I feel like a terrible wife. Anyone have any simple ideas I could do to make his day more special? Fuel me with something? I've been hoping for a spark of energy all day, and it's just not coming.
