Since I've been pregnant, I cook maybe 3 days a week, and usually 1 or 2 of those meals are easy. Like tacos, or the other night I had a whole "jerk spiced chicken thighs and mashed sweet potatoes" thing planned and instead I ended up popping a frozen pizza we had in the oven. He doesn't seem to mind, at least he hasn't said anything :)

I totally understand..I never feel like cooking really, I just do it because I know we can't have pizza everyday! Now that LO is eating a lot I have to cook because he likes and needs a varied diet.
What I have found that helps is making a list of everything you know how to make, and referencing it to get ideas for what you can make...that and DH sometimes just has to fend for himself...

I have trouble cooking because whenever I do something comes up. Today I prepared meatballs so all I'd have to do is stick them in the oven and throw the pasta in, then dh comes home and says hes taking lo to his moms because he assumed id be busy for dinner because its my water zumba night. So I'm saving them for tomorrow which is supposed to be our date night because my parents come take my lo out... but I guess we'll have a date night in because I'm not wasting food. Something always comes up!

Pinterest. They have excellent pictures, which makes you want to cook things.

I can't say I ever feel sorry for my hubby when I don't make dinner. He didn't make me dinner either.

@aMohror: I think so! It is harder to feed your child cereal for dinner and not feel guilty. I haven't done it ... yet! :-)

If you look online there are many simple easy recipes. You can google recipes base on foods you already have in you kitchen. I used to go to product sites like hellman's mayo or pillsbury and there are lots of simple ideas like the mayo parm chicken breast
http://www.hellmanns.com/recipes/detail/8366/1/

@chopsuey119: Thank goodness I'm not the only one! When he settles on cereal I just feel terrible because then he is hungry later! I think I will be putting in more effort to accomplish this so I feel better! Steak and potatoes sounds great! Before I was with him I made a ton of stuff with chicken, well he doesn't like it so that cuts out a TON!

@Andrea: I'm really hoping I will be the same way! I keep telling my husband I want us to eat better so our daughter won't know the difference, I'm having a hard time convincing him...!

I was never motivated to cook until I had DD. I am way more motivated to feed her home cooked meals than I ever will be to feed myself and DH. Oh well, at least he gets to benefit!

Am I the only one who hardly cooks these days? I feel horrible for my husband! I can cook anything with a recipe so why don't I cook?! Lately I haven't wanted to cook as much between the heat and being uber pregnant, but I suck even when I'm not pregnant! (I'm just making excuses!) I feel like I can't get motivated to cook meals :( We seriously have mac and cheese at least once a week or my husband will have cereal, that's no dinner! It's just the two of us and we aren't big on left overs and he's kinda picky! How do you get motivated to cook?! I want to cook every night, I just don't like recipes with a lot of ingredients, or buying an item for one recipe when it will have some left over!

Please help!
