@TapDancer: I could not walk starting st 36 weeks. It was very abrupt and I couldn't go to work. My last day of work my coworker literally had to go get my car for me and pull it to the front of the building and my boss carried me to it. The only way I managed was by laying down. They didn't want baby to get too big and cause further damage during delivery. I know many docs don't think you should be induced but my OB was pretty adamant even when I didn't want to be. I hope yours doesn't get much worse. I was a gymnast and had many bad injuries in my life. This was the worst pain of my life!

@T.H.O.U.: Same, sex made it was worse for me. My pain level varied from 22ish weeks til the end of pregnancy. But sex made it way worse, and I actually stopped having sex after about week 26.

Sex made it worse for me. But with this third I had it way before 30 weeks even. It does seem to come and go.

@catomd00: Interesting that they induced your labor early because of the SPD. I am struggling with it myself (currently 28 weeks) and have been wondering how things will go towards the end of pregnancy, if they would induce, etc...especially if it gets any worse. I am doing everything I can to keep things at bay, but ugh, it's the pits. Hope it disappears for you soon!!

Ugh, sounds like SPD. I am struggling with it right now (28 weeks) and it's not fun. I am seeing a chiropractor who specializes in pregnant women who is helping me a ton. I highly recommend getting in to see someone ASAP. Also pelvic floor exercises as others have mentioned and generally taking it very slow -- keep your knees together when getting in/out of car, rolling over in bed (use your arms and legs to help you turn over - not your pelvis), do not walk up hills or any incline at all if you can help it, etc.

All of the above has reduced my pain during the day, but the night is still a bear. Turning over in bed is extremely awful. I feel for you - hang in there!!

Sounds like SPD, sorry mama it sucks! Definitely see a pelvic floor PT or chiro who specializes. Not a whole lot you can do otherwise besides just manage the pain by resting and not doing anything to irritate it more.

I just went through this and was induced early because of it. A lot of OBs seem to not care, luckily I happened to accidentally have an appt with a high risk OB after it started and she took me seriously and took me out of work for the last few weeks. It's supposed to go a way shortly after delivery but mine is still there at 10 weeks pp. I may have some other issues causing it, though so hope it goes away for you!

Oh and keep doing your kegels! Keeping your pelvic floor strong will help you heal faster.

You might also want to get a serola belt on amazon to stabilize your pelvis.

See a pelvic floor physical therapist (sometimes the specialty is listed as women's health PT). They are the experts in this area and can work wonders on this pain.

I don't have any remedies, but mine did come and go a lot more with my second pregnancy than my first. I just tried to rest as much as I could (easy, right?) and find positions where it didn't hurt so much. I hope it passes soon!

@Paddington10: is it symphysis pubis dysfunction? I had a mild version of this during this pregnancy. Basically I had to make sure I never did anything unevenly- so if you are rolling over in bed, use both legs to push yourself, not just one. Use both feet to get in and out of the car. Sit to put on pants. Also, wearing a support belt when I was "active" (by which I mean like....cleaning the house) helped me.

Ummm, so: I have had round ligament pain for a while but in the past week or so, my pubic area/bone has felt like someone has punched it into shards. Standing hurts, rolling over in bed hurts, bending hurts, I am hobbling like a grannie! This did not happen with my first kid! Any remedies to recommend? I expected this later but I'm 30 weeks now -- hopefully my child hasn't descended so far as to put this kind of pressure on my crotch!
