DD1 chipped her front tooth when she was 21 months old whilst simply walking on our tile floor. She tripped over absolutely nothing whilst carrying a toy, couldn't get her hands down in time, and chipped a chunk off her front tooth. I was standing right next to her but wasn't able to grab her in time. I cried for days every time I looked at it, feeling like the world's absolute worst mother, but you know what? Two of us with babies about the same age posted within minutes of eachother about how often they seem to hurt themselves.</p> <p>About a month ago, my LO was nursing with me in bed. I put a pillow along the edge so she wouldn't roll, but she instead decided to do a head stand on top of it, and fell straight down onto the top of her head on the floor and then laid there, and didn't cry. I didn't know whether I should move her in case there was trauma to her neck, so I called 911 to find out. Turns out that they HAVE to dispatch someone, and can't give you advice over the phone. So, two fire trucks and an ambulance showed up at my house, and they were discussing whether they needed to notify child protective services. Of course also on the hottest day of the year, so I'd been letting LO wander around the house in just a diaper, so we looked sooo trashy as we're meeting with emergency services on the front lawn. And neither my husband or I saw it bc we were in other rooms, at least you were being a responsible parent and supervising! Blood everywhere, had to go to the ER, the whole 9 yards, was awful! I pulled the playpen and my sister down on top of me, hitting me in the mouth. The only thing that was wrong with my permanent teeth was some minor staining from where the buds were bruised.
