@ineebee: I have the FF account but I haven't been keeping it up to date. I have all my info written down I just have to plug it in. My temps went from 96.3-97.7 after I got the positive OPK. Well see how this month goes.

@Sugar.Biscuit: I know this is a few days old, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents.

I also have PCOS and for a few months, I used only OPKs to detect ovulation. They were pretty inconsistent, but I was getting positive OPKs, though no BFP. After checking my hormone levels, my RE said that my OPK positives could have been false positives.

As you probably know, a hallmark of PCOS is wonky hormone levels, and since OPKs detect the luteinizing hormone (LH), it's possible that your LH goes up, but you don't ovulate.

After hearing this, I decided to use OPKs plus start charting because really, charting is the only way to detect ovulation at home. (A blood test for progesterone is the only other way, I think.)

As someone else mentioned above, Fertility Friend is a fabulous resource, and I love it! Not only does it allow you to enter your daily temps, it interprets the patterns and also interprets your symptoms.

Good luck to you! I hope surgery went well! Baby dust!

@Sugar.Biscuit: those two things should help to confirm a positive OPK. CM will likely be watery/wet or egg white. Temps may drop and then rise after ovulation. Hope that helps! You can post on the "Charters of the Hive" thread to get others to chime in--the women over there really know their stuff!

@Sugar.Biscuit: you can use fertility friend to read your temps for you. Temping never worked for me (I couldn't get a resting temp at a consistent time). But my understanding is that temping is the only way to confirm ovulation. OPK's let you know that your body is getting ready to ovulate... But can't confirm if it actually happens.

A good feeling! I'm glad your weekend has ended on such a positive note.

To answer your question, you can get a positive OPK but not ovulate. Since you have obviously ovulated in the past, I'm not sure what that means for your future chances as well. Are you recording any other fertility signs?

The last few months have been crazy so my charting has been off. I wasnt temping, checking cm or using OPK's regularly. After my surgery DH & I got pregnant and didn't really know for sure until after the MC that we were pregnant. We were 5 weeks. After the MC DH & I decided we HAD to wait until after my next surgery to BD so we didn't risk getting pregnant & having another MC.

Sense then I have been really good about checking everything and today I had a lot of clear stretchy CM & a positive OPK! Because of my PSOC we didn't even know for sure if I was even ovulating. Obviously the MC confirmed that I had ovulated but this positive OPk confirms it too, right? I mean can you get a positive OPK and still not ovulate??? I'm sure it's possible but how often would that really happen?

DH was sad that we couldn't BD right now. He was like your wasting a baby. I told him were saving it for the right baby and he agreed. It was good to see him get excited. He is sick anyways so even if I wasnt going to be having surgery again I REALLY don't feel like risking him throwing up on me. Lol. Eww.

Surgery is this Wednesday & I am excited to finally have all this behind me so we can start trying again for our sticky baby! Eeeeeeek!
