I was 4cm's dilated when I had it done and I didn't feel much. We, ahem, DTD a few hours after the appointment and I went into labor immediately after that. It was a Wednesday. We scheduled an induction for the following Tuesday, but the doc was certain I wouldn't make it to the induction. She was wrong. I actually thought it helped because my bloody show happened the night of my sweep and I was started having contractions that night. When I went in for labor I was 5 cm dilated but my water didn't break yet. I was induced at 39+4 for high blood pressure. </p> <p>I am 38 weeks today, and according to my doctor I am 4cm dilated and my cervix is "short". I've been losing small amounts of my plug for a week or so. She doesn't think I'll make it to my appointment next Friday.</p> <p>I'm just wondering what people's experiences with membrane sweeps are. I feel like it's not going to work, but then again I am also SO hopeful it will. </p>
