We were deciding between two brands. The negotiation and actual purchase were really easy though. DH sent me an article about this method where you email 7 dealers (I included Costco) with the specs you want and ask for their best price. I got a huge range on our 2016 Odyessey. The whole process took about a day of emailing and we ended up paying under invoice. The other dealers I was negotiating with told me it couldn't be legit but it was. We stated up front we would pay in cash so they weren't getting us on financing either. And when I was in the parking lot of the dealer that gave us the best deal another one offered us $100 less that absolutely could not be topped deal. I ended up going through Costco's auto buyer program and they made it so easy. You show up, show them your Costco card, test drive the car, then they show you the price (which was lower than I was hoping to pay for the car). I went home, talked to my husband, called them back and reserved the exact car I wanted (the dealer inventory is on their website). We went in the next day to sign the papers and drive off. We were at the dealership an hour and a half, but that included them explaining (in detail) how to use the "smart" features of the car. The last car we bought was the best job we've done so far.<br /> We bought a certified used vehicle using True Car to find the vehicle we wanted in the price range we wanted, called the dealer to double check that it had all the options we wanted, and drove our trade-in over there. We walked in at 730pm, test drove the car, we were about $1500 apart between the car and trade-in and we ended up somewhere in the middle. The sales people are so frustrating to deal with. We have two kids and just want to be able to walk in and out quickly. we went to multiple places and they are all about time wasting techniques that keep you there for hours and in 2 cases they didnt even have the car we wanted! And this is at the dealership. They end up trying to sell you a different color, or different version than what we ask for with the the price always been higher than what we clearly stated we were prepared to pay.<br /> I wish I could order a car online and have it arrive at my house! </p>
