Yes, lol loving in 800 sq ft we have this problem too! There is a door to our only bathroom from DS's room, so every time we flush the toilet it has the potential to wake him up. This is something I am considering when looking for a house, I definitely want separation of space between the master suite and other rooms - and I actually prefer a more closed off floor plan vs. open concept because of this reason as well. I don't like when the upstairs (bedroom area) has an opening to the downstairs which seems to be a very 90's floor plan!

Another no flusher at night here!! C is still in my room until I have time to reconfigure four girls beds in one room  Sadly our master bath also shares a wall with their room, and the guest/kids bathroom is directly across the hall from their room.

Our next home needs to have the master on the opposite side of the home, my first home was like that and I LOVED it!!!

One of our top requirements for a house was a split floor plan! But we didn't think about the fact that the washer/dryer back the nursery crib wall.

@.twist.: I'm sorry. :( I can kind of relate as our one shower/tub combo is between the two bedrooms (door in the hallway) and shares a wall with lo's crib. When I want to shower while she's asleep I leave the fan on when I put her down so she falls asleep with that and her white noise on, and then somehow she doesn't wake up. I shower about 30-60 mins after she falls asleep usually, if it's nighttime. Haven't tried in in the daytime. Maybe you could also try a towel under the door while you're turning the water on to keep the noise out? It might be the pipes in the wall though. Actually come to think of it I think our last place the bathroom shared a wall with her room too, although not the wall the crib was next to. I can't help you with the hair dryer, though. That is one of the reasons I don't use one.

omg I feel your pain! We only have one bathroom and it shares a wall with LO's room. Although it doesn't seem to always wake him, it sometimes does, so I always worry about it. I won't even let DH shower for work until 6am or later. We even worry about flushing the toilet. Hate having that little stress every day. Dreaming of a different house someday...

@.twist.: Is it the actual shower sound or the crazy high pitched pipe sound in the wall? If it's the pipes, maybe you can get it looked at. As for the hair dryer... sorry lol.

Our guest bathroom is right next to C's room and the toilet flushes SO loudly. We don't let guests use it while she is sleeping and make them use the master which luckily is far enough away. Nap time IS shower time!

Our kitchen is close to her room, though, so I can do general quiet clean up or cooking in there, but I can't empty the dishwasher. I hate when I forget to do it until she is in bed. And forget vacuuming.

So, who designs housing floor plans? I need to have a chat with whoever designed ours. I mean, I know not EVERY family has children, but a good majority do and I think they should take that into consideration!

Our master bathroom shares a wall with L, and the shower startles him awake every time we try to shower. So, I started showering in the other bathroom.... except... it's RIGHT across the hall from L's room and while it worked great when he was younger, it now wakes him up as well. Not to mention the sound of my blow dryer also wakes him up.

We use white noise in his room, I use the fan while showering...

I tried waiting until he was awake and showering WITH him, but that was a complete disaster and he either spent the time pitifully shivering on the floor or happily splashing about in my arms while I did not get any cleaner.

We NEED a bigger house with a different floor plan. DH is so attached to this one because of how convenient it is to run his business out of...

So I've succumbed to never showering. ever. I will never again. Not until L moves out...

I'm half joking and half venting.... :crying:
