I think this would be hard to do while nursing, so maybe try pumping until you get it out? I completely ignored it until my fever was so bad that I was shaking and couldn't hold DS anymore (for fear of him shaking out of my arms). I would say that if it hasn't gone away in a reasonable amount of time, call the doctor. Thrush sucks, but Mastitis makes it hard to care for you LO. </p> <p>Have you tried nursing while laying down? They also say completely emptying the breast helps, so have you pumped after nursing? So I had only planned to call if it was higher than 101.3? Good/bad idea? And I have done the dangle nursing. Didn't seem to help. I've been changing up the positions a lot, though. And yeah, done the massage and heat. Have you tried dangle nursing--literally dangling your boob over your LO? I've had them for over 48 hours now. I'm doing everything I know to get rid of them but they're still there. I had fever 2 days ago/yesterday morning (low-grade), but haven't had any since then.</p> <p>My question is, at what point should I be concerned enough to call my dr? I've got some redness but it's just a few spots (not a huge area or anything) and only localized tenderness. BFing isn't painful at all. But I'm terrified of mastitis! Even more terrified of thrush, though, so I really don't want to take an antibiotic. </p>
